My mom has a house and the Appalachian Trail is in her backyard. She said that people are going missing in her state so much that they have installed these booklets throughout the trails where people are encouraged to write their names in the books so if they do go missing, authorities can try to figure out from point to point where they went missing.

This needs to be addressed. Can you imagine a loved one of yours simply disappearing? Think about that. They vanished. David Paulides is doing noble work.

What makes me sick is law enforcement always have to trash the family even when there is absolutely no way the parents in this were responsible for what happened. I would sue them for defamation of character, those parents are victims.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS. My whole family has lived up in Northern California, Oregon and Idaho as far back as I can remember. I started listening to David Paulides a few years back, but my mom listened to Art Bell for years told me about this.
At the time, we didn't have all the technology we do now, I figure OK a FEW people went missing, not hard to picture if you've ever been in the deep woods.
OH NO.... nope HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS.
This is one of the creepiest subjects ever. Just when you think you know what something is- YOU TOTALLY DON'T.
And I find it interesting the parks have lists of MOVIES made there - and people making the movies... but NO MISSING PERSON LIST?
WHY? WHY NOT? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
How hard could this possibly be to do? Nope. NO LISTS. and MANY ROADBLOCKS to the info.
Seriously respectable and incredible work by David Paulides.
He's got a 25 hour video of lots of interviews well worth a listen.

Been listennig to David Paulides for while now and finally watched the film. I don't have kids but I have nieces and nephews I'm close to and the Missing 411 doc scared the shit out of me! Can only imagine how terrifying it would be watching as a parent. I'm now hesitant to go to anywhere resembling a national park. But I have to remind myself that for every person missing there are probably thousands that didn't go missing.
