My gracious student Andy decided to let me record our Skype lesson in order to show everyone else what it's like to work with me one on one. Here's a glimpse into what working through music theory can do to enrich your musical life. The theory grid I use is one I have developed for many years, integrating methods of transcription and ways of thinking I've gleaned from my studies in ethnomusicology and my musical experience overall.

I hope to create a lot of educational content like this for my website. Thanks for your continued support.

could you explain the chord dictionary a little more? like why do the 4 and 5 have a b5 and #5 in them? Also do the 4 and 5 on the left mean the IV and V chords of a certain major key?
