a lot of older cars also need you to push the gas a bit so it doesn't stall

For the people saying u will wear the clutch if it’s constantly down that’s not true yes it’s better to be in neutral when waiting but waiting with ur foot down ur not wearing the clutch but a bearing not ideal but if u wait with the clutch slightly up or on biting then yes that’s wearing the clutch but if it’s down it’s the bearing

I prefer arriving at the biting point while having the pedal brake pressed and when you have to go fastly swap brake pedal to accelerate so the car starts instantly and it gets the gas fast. Literally the method for not stalling when you are on a climb, but I use it everywhere, cause it's way safer since you don't know if your car could go backwards in any road you are, even if for you it doesn't look inclined

Don’t hold your foot on the clutch in first if you are stopped at a red light, you will wear the clutch throw out bearing very fast. Put the car in neutral at a stop and use only brakes, Same with completely still traffic, and only use the clutch when you start to pull off or creep. That’s what the brake pad is there for.

I’ve found out why I was over revving a lot! Basically I add gas first but it took me a while to find the bite so the cars just revving if you get what I mean. Bit more used to knowing where the bite is now though! I have never had a high clutch before until now 😂

I've watched many videos about this, and yours is the most instructive by far to me. Today I could get it right. Thank you so much

Great vid as always! this is what i struggle with you also covered the point of letting the clutch off to quick as u want to go quick which results in a stall, that happened last lesson to me he, but its good to see how to improve, keep these up!

off topic question when would you allow a student to start doing roundabouts (after how many hours of learning)

mainly important in petrol cars, my black box hates me for this every time i set off i get notified for accelerating quickly, worst it when going on by pass and going from standstill straight to 70 to get up with traffic

I got a manual ford ranger from 2006 a few days ago and ive stalled at a lot of red lights. Its very annoying. But recently I've been getting the hang of it and I'm enjoying driving it so much. This video definitely helped me too..

Thanks for the tips on moving the car quickly from start. Do you know if moving up the gears at high revs can damage the clutch? Cheers

Good info, dont hold the clutch down at red lights! Get the car into neutral!

I have more than 10 years of driving, but I wouln't be able to explain it better. I'm at a point where I don't even really know how I'm doing to move fast. I'm just doing it.
Great content!

My driving instructor is 'new' as in they're a post covid instructor, yeah they're not 25, mines 50 and plenty of years driving behind him. But he teaches me that clutch and no gas at all times, this and me being really tall, I can't clutch control super well (not enough space for my legs). But seeing this, is like a lightbulb moment, if there were more instructors around I'd drop him in an instant he doesn't let me do this going forward.

Is this the same for both diesel and petrol cars? I was taught on a diesel car and passed a week ago and bought a diesel car but I'm always a bit slower than tge other cars around me.
