The Kubota has a longer stick than the deere. This is like watching a short armed dude bench press against a long arm dude.

The shorter stick on the Deere is why it could lift more.

I have personally enjoyed running Deere and Volvo. More often than not, any of the major brands are going to be fairly similar. At the end of the day, parts availability and distance to a local service center becomes a pressing factor.

I know the Deere costs more, but it has larger pins and bushings and will last longer that the Kubota. Plus you have to turn on the aux hydraulics every time you get in the Kubota, gets old when you are in and out all day.

I have a 60G with the counter weight and the longer stick. It is hands down by far the best mini I have ever had or ran. We’ve had John Deere 50s and some other brands but the 60 out lifts and out works all of them.

You should compare the Deere versus a Hitachi lol. 🤣

Dealer support should be a MAJOR consideration considering other things being equal!

Looks like the stick is longer on the Kubota? If so that explains hydraulics not holding on kubota get Deer with same length stick and compare.

Well I should hope the Deere out performs the Kubota, It outweighs it by 1, 000 Pounds !!

I have a JD 60g, I do believe it is a larger machine than that Kubota. The JD maintenance is a pain in the ass, you can't get a quart of oil in it with out rigging up a funnel and a hose. The JD has a wimpy thumb, a smaller bobcat has a better thumb. The JD has a Yanmar engine and is made in Mexico. I like the JD but not a 100%, it does kick ass all over the cat 305.5.

Looks like a toss up. The Deere needs the extra weight. The bigger question is, what's the price difference?

Time to bring the new Yanmar to the party!

I wouldn't have either one for that job both machines will wear out premature due to not being big enough for the job to start with

I still want to see it compare to the yanmar and cat machine

Obviously the Deere was the hands down winner!

It looks to me like the thumb of the Deere can open a bit further, that combined with the bucket it looks to me like the Deere is holding the log 6-8” closer to the cab at full extension, which may be effecting the test results. A bit hard to tell from video but that’s what it looked like to me anyway.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video, always nice to see real world tests and not marketing bs.

Not sure if Kubota still does this, but back when I worked at a dealer (12 years) we had a front loader that drifted down over night if left up off the ground. Bucket also tilted forward if left for 12-15 hours. Check the parts list, and find that the cylinders had no O-ring under the piston on the rod. Pulled the cylinders apart, and sure enough, the parts list is accurate. Put in a proper sized O-ring, reassembled cylinder, and problem fixed. I have an 8 year old BX that the back hoe and the outriggers drift down if left for a couple of days.

I'd bet a good chunk of change that is why the log pulled that boom down so easily. It would also be interesting to know the weight rating on the boom.
