Head 2 Head! John Deere 1025R VS Kubota BX23S. A Side by Side Comparison

I wanted to do something a little different from normal here. An impromptu comparison of competitive models. A John Deere 1025R TLB and a Kubota BX23S TLB. I didn't have a script here just I wanted to talk about different features and functions and what I personally like about each. While also pointing out a few specs on each model. After I finished the video I realized I forgot to mention that max digging depth of these two are virtually the same with the Kubota showing just 1 inch more of max digging deopth at 73 inches vs 72 inches on the 260B backhoe attachment of the Deere.

That was a nice comparison. I had a nearly identical 2017 Kubota BX23S and now I have a 2023 John Deere 1025R. Both are great tractors. Current models have a few new features so keep that in mind. I agree with the battery conversation. It was much easier to access on the Kubota. However the fit and finish of the cover under the steering wheel can very on the Kubota and I was not impressed with mine. The cover would not stay tight on the sides and it always looked sloppy. I agree with you about the pedals. The twin pedals on the 1025R are a lot more comfortable, to me anyway. I use to get a sore knee after operating the Kubota. The JD also seems to back up a lot faster than the Kubota and it doesn't have the loud hydraulic whine that the Kubota did. I was always worried about damaging the plastic hydraulic transmission fan on the Kubota. I like that JD uses a transmission radiator cooler instead of the plastic fan. I agree the loader is smoother to operate on the Kubota. The JD does seem to only do one function at a time. However the loader just feels more solid on the JD. The loader stands really are not comparable. The Kubota parking stand is fragile and can bend very easily. The cast iron clamps on the JD are very solid and easy to use unlike the little springs and light weight metal handles on the Kubota. I find taking the loader on and off the JD much easier than on the Kubota. If you get the single-point hydraulic quick connector option beware the quality between the Kubota and John Deere are not the same. For whatever reason the Kubota single-point connector has issues with leaks. I had the dealer replace mine three times and it never solved the issue. The JD single point connector on my tractor so far has not leaked. The drive over mower deck on the JD is a game changer. That along with the load-n-go brackets. I had the SSQA on the BX. The JD uses the JDQA system. I guess if you have a lot of SSQA attachments that might be a big issue. Between the two I actually like the JDQA system better. It's a little lighter and every pound matters on these sub-compacts. However the one weird thing on the JD is that the two couplers on the loader can get out of sync and that can make connecting the implements a little more challenging. Not a big issue but it's something. Both tractors have their pluses and minuses. Get what you like. Oh, the Kubota has a nice gas gauge in the instrument cluster. The JD has a float style gauge that is off to the left side of the seat. I think that's weird. Oh, the position control on the three point lever of the 1025R is far superior to the Kubota three point lever. I hope that is useful to someone comparing the two.

Buy a Massey or Yanmar instead people. Massey is made by the biggest agriculture company in the world so they must do something right. Yanmar makes the engine and other stuff for the JD and other brands. JD is to expensive with less warranty, Kubota is better, but still behind Massey and Yanmar when it comes to bang for your buck.
