So happy you guys are enjoying this video! ❤I wanted to quickly mention that I know not all of you will be living in places that have 4 different seasons, and in those cases I'd recommend focusing more on the overall expression of your wardrobe. You can try and rotate some items every 3-4 months to shake things up instead and make your wardrobe feel fresh and updated, so you still get that capsule wardrobe "feeling". Just an idea to try it out if you're interested!🥰Signe xx

It is often hard to explain to others how life-changing it is, but the reason it is so transformative is because it isn't about the clothes per se; it is about habits, intentionality, and an understanding and acceptance of oneself. After trying capsule wardrobing for about 4-5 years, I’ve landed on a system that works for me: I use about 3 capsule wardrobes interchangeably. It amounts probably to an intentional year-round capsule. This works for my extreme seasonal climate, my lifestyle with 4 kids, and fluctuating body weight. The 3 capsules each have a distinct style and I use them interchangeably which gives me a personal style that I love. I have a color palette that I stick to and it helps avoid purchases that don’t match. My color palette mostly consists of Sage green/ olive green, Khaki, Cream/Beige, Grey, Mauve, Salmon-peach. And Navy & Cranberry in the winter.

I’m currently tracking what I wear each day because 1) I’m not sure if I’m keeping things just to keep them, 2) I’m not sure what items go in each season and 3) I want to track my cost per wear for a bit. I’m really thankful for channels like yours as it help me to refrain from shopping.

Excellent content and so well presented! I have really been struggling lately with myself because I went on a large declutter spree early on in my journey, doing away with many items I wasn’t wearing… But that absolutely fit my current style. On a couple of occasions… I hate to admit, I actually went out to the thrift and consignment stores I gave those items to try to find them back! Of course I didn’t, because they were really great pieces and I’m sure they made someone happy! I am now being much more careful and taking time to put things aside. It was actually a struggle for me to keep a maybe box because I knew they were things that were just being stored and not used. All of these minimalist/capsule wardrobe videos I watched in the past did not validate doing this and instead made me feel a little guilty of keeping things to the side. Not doing so DOES result in major decluttering regret. I strongly advocate for having a maybe pile and storing things away that maybe just don’t speak you in the current season.
I also think that writing down the pieces you decluttered and why including your thoughts around them is very important for future purchases. If you find yourself considering a purchase of a very similar item, you can go back and evaluate why you declared it in the first place and look at your thoughts around it.

Well said & lovely presentation ! As a baby-boomer, I grew up w/ " coordinates " - being able to mix 'n match & wear key pieces in multiple combinations . First consideration was quality, then asking how many ways & how many times will I wear each piece . In Illinois ( US ) we have four seasons, which seem to overlap or bounce back & forth, which is an interesting challenge . Thankful for today's fabrics that are easier to layer !
