The VA C&P examiner did this facial recognition test doing my PTSD exam in 2017. In myhealthyvet she opined that I was malingering and I was denied service connection. I was furious to say the least. I requested a re-exam with an outside company. The VA sent me to a QTC psychiatrist a month later. At the QTC facility there was no facial recognition test. 3 weeks later I was granted service connection at 100%

After reading comments, I think it should be assessed that audio recordings of exams are essential documentation. Do a blind recording, then after the exam drop the "oh by the way, I recorded this for my own records".

At my DRO hearing the VA stated things to me before the recording was turned on. The most bothersome thing was he made it clear to me and my wife that all Veterans lie. I stated, so before we even get started you are calling me a liar ?. The DRO laughed. I have started keeping audio notes on all conversations with the VA... Yes I audio record and make sure to ask VA employees to identify themselves. I refer back to them in statements regarding my case.

I was told that the more some outside VA *(contracted)* Doctors get veterans turned down for benefits (failed C/P) exams, the more business the VA sends them. I'm glad that I'm a 100% P/T now, because I went through pure hell getting it.

This is happening to me right now. I have had multiple things listed in my claim and the VA in Indianapolis is only willing to examine Tinnitus and PTSD. They are also having me do the examination at a private doctors office and they sent me a letter in the mail saying that I lack sufficient evidence supporting I have PTSD when I've been diagnosed with it but they're going to send me to this private doctor for the C&P exam most likely to kick me under the rug and tell me I am somehow lying about PTSD. The people that work at the VA in Indianapolis are corrupt disgusting people who should not be allowed to practice medicine.

I had one of those contracted examiners bold face lie in their notes, which I obtained copies of later. I was there for a painful scar, of course I told the truth and said that it was painful and itchy, etc.. In the notes the doctor had written that the scar is not painful the veteran reported. Such a lie, made me so upset. I got denied but won it on appeal a year or so later. It's crazy that these people put veterans through all of this just for trying to obtain a benefit that we rightfully earned.

I had a qtc examiner give me a paper to check boxes on it, and when I didn’t understand what the boxes meant because they seemed to have a wide range of meaning I asked her what they meant and all she told me was check what you think is best for you. Then two days later the VA made there decision on my PTSD re-evaluation and said that they where going to reduce me and there reasoning was the boxes I didn’t check that I didn’t know what they meant. Now for the last year I bee. Fighting with the VA about my rating when the doctor I see weekly for the past 5 years recommended I be considered 100 permanent and total rating. The VA takes information from their evaluator that knows nothing about me over that of my doctor.

All contact with these mental health providers begin with "How are you doing?" While this appears on the surface 'casual', don't fall for it. They know the common response will be "Fine". They are recording this. How can they justify rating you at 100% PTSD if you always say "I'm fine"? They cannot, and will not.

They should be required to video the Exams. This ensures that all questions on the DBQ are answered by the veteran and provides transparency on both sides.

I have used the VA for 33 years now, and it has only lowered my quality of life, I live in a world of constant pain and discomfort and have to be self-employed because of my disabilities and the VA doesn't care one dam bit. (Band aide medical care at best)

Two words: Private physician. If I can help it VA doctor will NEVER touch or evaluate me again. Send me my check and have a nice life.

Social Security pulls the same stunts in their disability exams. I swear its as if the outside Doctors get a bonus for disqualifying you.

They pulled that same kind of trick questioning at my simple tinitus c&p exam.

I had an examiner only ask me about my childhood, and then within the last three minutes of the exam she asked me about my experience in the army, and then she told me of you have-improved 😮goodbye

During my appeal the judge said that I was never diagnosed with patsd thankfully I had retained a lawyer for that 30% and she stated that yes I was and I was right after I got out of the military otherwise they would have claimed and pretended like I had never been diagnosed or had even though they do treat me for him but they themselves refuse to diagnose me at the VA because again then you would have to probably give benefits if you acknowledge it and can't have that can you helping veterans especially since I don't want to do the psychiatric drugs and I work for the VA for a time and I know they don't work I've seen what they do to the patients they work on and I kind of think PTSD is the lesser of the evil

I had my PTSD Exam yesterday. Have no idea how it went. Two hours. Can't prove my classified stressor. Wait to see the decision letter in a couple months.
