Here's a typical training week in my life! I'm a post collegiate runner who is trying to run professionally and compete to represent Peru internationally. I run anywhere from 60-70 mpw, with 2 workouts and a long run. Training has been going really well since this was filmed a couple of months ago. I'm looking forward to racing another 5k this Saturday (July 20th) at the Sunset Tour in California!

Thanks for sharing Mica! Appreciate your honesty about having weeks where recovery is just not optimal. It is encouraging to me as an average runner to know that even people at your level have weeks and workouts that are just harder and not what we want them to be! Thanks :)

Dr. Jack Daniels mentions in his book "when in doubt, undertrain." No shame in cutting a session short or skipping a workout when you're not fully recovered. Your post-video race results show your approach was a wise one! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Mica! Absolutely love your videos. As a sophomore in hs trying to compete well in the upcoming XC season you are truly such an inspiration for my training. Watching you do such difficult work while keeping it real as well as positive has been such a refresher, as running is no easy feat and it's easy to get down on yourself when it feels like your results don't match the effort you've put in. After 12 weeks averaging 67 miles you were probably a bit fried and did the right thing taking it easy. The way you bounced back for the long run was a good sign.
