Thousands gather in Paris square to protest far-right National Rally party • FRANCE 24 English

Anti-far right protests erupted in Paris’s Place de la République Sunday evening where left-wing voters gathered to show support for the New Popular front – an alliance formed between French Socialists, Communists, Greens and France Unbowed party – after it came in second behind the far right alliance led by National Rally. FRANCE 24’s James André reports.

Today I learned 34% of France is "far right". When does over 1/3 of the country (and more to come) simply get called "right" rather than "far right"? Why isn't the much smaller 2nd place group labeled as "far left", when their group is smaller, so by definition more of a "fringe" group? Don't worry, I already know the answer., Vive Le Pen & Merci

France 24, These protestors are the far-left voters. Kind of the opposite of the same coin. And it's Paris, which is always the base of the far-left. Stop misleading the international people who aren't used to French politics that these are normal moderate people protesting the far-right. They aren't. They're the far-left, communist included.
