I had the same issue using the M-Audio Air 192|4 with my Shure MV7. Pulling the knob to 10 made it work, but with background noise. Thanks for the explanation, know I know that I need an inline preamp! :))

Amazing video! This is exactly the setup I have. I was given a cloudlifter for free when I purchased my SM7B and it works great with my m-track duo and found that setting the gain to about 6 and 3/4 was the sweet spot.

I just purchased one of these recently and that input level adjustment is cracked out 6:16. I'll have a look into a pre-amp, I imagine it's going to benefit any usb interface / dynamic mic pairing.

Can you make a similar video to this on how to setup up the Shure MV7? I have the M-Audio connected to the Fethead to my Shure MV7 and the volume dial is sitting on 7 to be considerably audible on my gaming livestreams. Game overall volume set to 70%. I've heard that the MV7 doesn't require that much boost to be audible. However, without the fethead, i would require to max out the M-Audio which will then result in alot of hissing and noise. I speak really up close to the mic, about 3 fingers away.
