The dad (Jose Menendez) was the producer of Menudo (the boyband which had Ricky Martin). The Menudo members have come forward and said they were exploited and sexually abused.
The parents José and Kitty would take inappropiate nude pictures of Lyle and Erik when they were kids and these photos were shown in the trial, in addition to Erik's medical records at age 7 that were consistent with sexual abuse. The cousins testified that the brothers had told them they were molested when they were kids. The cousins warned the mother Kitty at the time and Kitty did nothing. Another cousin said that José would shower with his teenage sons; an uncle testified that he saw José punching 5-year-old Lyle. Kitty's therapist said that Kitty confessed she was hiding dark and embarrassing secrets about her family. A neighbour testified that José had CP films.

I’m glad it’s showing how awful the parents were to them. That’s important to actually understand the story.

hope they do this story justice. those boys endured so much abuse it’s insane.

The mother reminds me of those parents that like to blame their children for their own failures in life.

If you're a parent that abused your own child so bad to the point he'll have major serious repercussions later in life, you automatically lost the right to live among human beings.

I do really appreciate that they’re actually showing the dynamic of abuse that happened amongst the boys. It definitely gives us a deeper understanding of how there psyche got to that level of hatred to unleash. I think people fail to understand that abuse comes from people in all forms and tax brackets. And I applaud them for showing the character of the parents and how the boys evolved to men that became broken enough to break apart in the worst way imaginable.

I cried so hard after watching the real Lyle and Erik speech their testimony at the court. you'll feel the pain and anger from what happened to them because of their abusive parents since they were kids. they should reopen their case. Freedom for the Menendez brothers.

The two trailers show the mastery of strong editing, both telling two seemingly different stories. The first hints at an aspect of greed, while hinting at the abuse inflicted. And the second humanizes the brothers, shining a light on the horrifying reality they lived within. At any rate, I do feel that the truth will be told and hopefully this can finally lead to their release.

The fact that people are more angry at the brothers for spending money than at the parents for abusing children is crazy! The brothers saved other children from being abused and people are mad at that??

Now that Im older, as a child who was raped, I understand now that it wasn't only about greed. It was about revenge. No one slaughters like that for money alone. That new evidence speaks volumes.

Surprised this isn’t trending, this looks incredible. One of the best trailers I’ve seen

I thought at first that the “Monsters” were the 2 boys, but I’m starting to realise that the parents were actually the monsters. I’ve heard of this crime but know nothing of the details. I’m looking forward to watching it.

Milli Vanilli’s “Blame it on the rain” is an interesting choice, and yet it flows so well! No B.S. Kudos to whomever cut this trailer together. 👏🏾

After seeing this, it really breaks my heart how the public came down so hard on them, ridiculed them, hated them, and they weren't even the real monsters. Everyone was feeling so bad for the parents 🤦‍♂️
