Just last week Disney released a one minute video showing off all of their fancy new technology they are bringing to the Disney parks. In that one minute video we got one new second of footage of their state-of-the-art retractable "real lightsaber". This new Disney light saber made its first appearance on a non-Dash recorded media press conference by the Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Josh D'Amaro. In this video we do a careful analysis of this one minute of priceless footage that shows unprecedented advances in the exciting world of lightsaber technology.

If you could change one thing about this saber… what would it be?

*_If_* (and it's a big if) these end up being for sale, I can't see them costing less than $800, and more likely in the $1, 000+ range.
Because not only are these are the first of their kind, but Disney actually has a patent on the mechanism, so we won't be getting fan-improved iterative designs for a _long_ while.

It’s the first of it’s kind, of course it has imperfections because they need to make it somewhat affordable.
10-15 years in the future these will be everywhere and much better quality.
But.. this is the first one, it’s very special and worth having if you can get it! :)

Here is my thoughts. This lightsaber will probably be as expensive as the hotel lol. And the lightsaber isn't proportionate at all. They would have been smarter to have made a custom unique saber hilt for this. But what makes me excited is perhaps they can use some of this led tech to make the black series lightsabers and legacy sabers a little better.

It’s somewhat impressive but the hilt is *WAY TOO THICK!* And as you said it would be hard to do some moves and tricks with it being that chunky.

If you notice when the blade saga down, the hilt is actually angling down. So really, there’s no sag. I can’t wait to see this thing! Loved your vid!
