I snagged Adafruit's Prop Maker feather board yesterday along with a NeoPixel strip and I'm gonna gut my sub $100 and replace the blade LEDs. I tested the plasma shock effect today and it's so bright in the cheaper blade that I'm considering painting the blade with a quick once-over to dampen it a bit, jumped into Arduino IDE to bring the power down on the LED strip, but it just didn't have that same 'OOMPH!' lowering the power just a bit made the ring that goes up from the hilts to the middle before it flares out, well it killed the intensity.

Anyway, my point is that if you want to really nice saber I don't want to spend the money, buying a cheaper hilt and blade then cutting the electronics to replace with the prop maker, my total investment so far is $90 for the saber, 20 bucks for the prop maker feather, and 15 bucks for the neo pixel strip. I have tons of 18650s mounts laying around, So I finally pulled the trigger on this project and I'm so happy I did! So imagine that NeoPixel saber on the right, take all the electronics out and put it in the cheaper saver on the left, that's what I'm doing, except now we can buy the components individually. Big thanks to Adafruit and the saber dev community for all their hard work on these Arduino sketches, especially the accelerometer stuff! Importing different sounds for different swing velocities is going to be so much fun to program in. Bye bye sleep for a while lol.
