They never sounded the same without Felder. Walsh and him together just made magic happen when they played together.

Felder turned the Eagles into a classic rock band. Plain and simple.

My mother and Don's mother both moved into the North Florida Retirement Village in Gainesville, FL at just about the same time. They became very good friends up until Don's mom passed away. I used to eat lunch with Doris and my mother and Doris would tell about Don and how he grew up in Gainesville, learned to play the guitar and became famous when he was with the Eagles. Don had given his mother, Doris, lots of his gold albums and she cherished them. When Don made trips to Paris, he would always bring back perfumes for his mother.
On a least two occasions, my mother got to have lunch with Don because he was at the retirement village to visit his mother.
I am 74 and loved, still love, the Eagles' music. Finding out from his mother and my mother what a great son he was just made me feel so good about him. I wish I had been there to have lunch with Don, his mom and my mom but I was an elementary school teacher and had zero time for such thrills.😁

I have said this before in other videos but it is worth repeating. My wife and I saw Don Felder and his band at a small Indian Casino several years ago. There were 200 fans at most at that show. Felder and his band put on a show second to none. They played as if they were in a stadium of 80, 000 fans. After the show, Don stayed on stage and signed autographs and allowed fans to have their photographs taken with him. He signed my show ticket. Don Felder is a class act. Thank you Don for a wonderful show.

Felder is woefully under appreciated. An incredible talent who brought a whole new sound to the Eagles. Joe Walsh was the icing on the cake.

Without Don Felder the Eagles would never have become that band & that song would never have seen the light of day!

It's amazing how on the one hand Frey put together incredible talent, and yet later tore it apart with his fights with Leadon, Meisner, Felder and Henley. Needless to say Felder has always taken the high road, is a decent guy and class act.

I still like Don Felder. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. He was a part of an important time in the history of The Eagles.

Fingers Felder is by far one of the best; he never received the accolades he so well deserves.

Don Felder is not an ordinary guitar player. When he play he put his soul and heart in it. He always wear a smile on his face ❤. There is no Hotel California if not for him. It's so sad that Henley and Frey fired in him.

I love the Eagles in every stage, but after Felder was gone they basically just became a touring act. Great video man!

Great Doc. I just saw Don a week ago in Niagara falls Ont. he was incredible "rocked leather pants at age 72" his voice blew me away, I'm no fool being a professional musician myself there was a little digital help (not sure what they were using on his voice but it doesn't fix everything) he still sounded great, his band was first class all top notch players ..his guitar playing ..well it's almost TOO good, so polished. He came up in a time when that was required to land a gig. so glad I got to see this Legend perform, he has quite a legacy ...May he keep on playing the Eagles were so foolish to let this man slip away

Theres a live version of Hotel Cali with Don and Joe dueling it out with an incredible performance. No two guitarists so perfectly complemented each other as these two did.

Without Don Felder, there would have been no Hotel California. And without this hallmark album, the Eagles might have remained little more than the soft rock country band that they had always been. Don Felder proved to be the catalyst that catapulted this band’s sound to next level, and Glenn quickly recognized it and asked him to join the band. Nothing that happened thereafter could change that.

Don Felder was and is, on top of everything else, a class guy…
Something that cannot be said of Glen and the other Don.

It's funny how Glenn said there's one asshole in the Eagles & Don Felder is it. He was right about the first part but I guess didn't realize he was actually describing himself not Don.

Don is one of the best guitarists (rock/blues) and a great guy and performer and without him it's no Eagles anymore.

My Favorite Hotel California video is the one they made in 1977, all of that song is GREAT, but my favorite part is the last almost 5 minutes of the song with Don & Joe, They look like they're having fun...and the sound of those 2 together is just Heart Pounding GREAT
