The sharp 7 (A#) on that inversion of Fsharp minor give it that magical harmonic minor note, which is part of what makes the solo so awesome, Felder used it perfectly

He actually created those chord progression in Em but during recording Henly's voice was high due to this he have to switch it to Bm. But instead of rewriting it to Bm he choose to add capo on 7th fret and continued the same chord progression.

Well, Felder gave the South Rock sound to the Eagles.
No question.

Well he was Tom Petty’s guitar teacher in Gatorville many years ago! And he was playing gigs at UF’s frat houses with Bernie Leadon and Stephen Stills back then, so he had begun to make his mark long before The Eagles. But I must agree that he is a genius song writer and a great guitarist! Hotel Cali among many! He and Joe Walsh were an awesome duo!😉👍😎🎸

6 chords in a verse. Everything about this song is perfect. Groove, feel, lyrics, banging chorus and a kick ass solo.

My 2 favorite opening guitar riffs are Hotel California and Johnny B Goode

While hotel California an amazing song, no one ever mentions any other eagles songs, there’s so many other amazing ones I wish would get more recognition

Chord progression for the verse was created by Ian Anderson.

Don Felder is a highly underrated guitar Smith. Eagles really screwed him over at end of Eagle eighth.

I thought Ian Anderson did the Chord progression for "Hotel California". listen to "We used to know, " by Jethro Tull, and see what you think

Henley and Frey were jealous of felder for creating their best song. The never got over it. That song I bet if you look paid them all 10x what any other song did. Felder is a Genuis. The hell freezes over version proves he was on another level. He had that just casually in his back pocket.

Don Felder is also an awesome soloist. I put him up with Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones) as two of the most underrated (sorry for using this overused word) guitarists ever... and 2 guys who got screwed over by their more "powerful" band mates.

And Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull gave Don Felder a master class of chord voicings for Hotel California when Don stole the chord progression from Jethro Tull's "We Used To Know". Remember...not only did the Eagles tour with Jethro Tull; they also stole their music.

Felder and Henley should have realized they are the eagles. You don't need much else.

It's very similar to a Jethro Tull song.

A phenomenal guitarist, tied with Donald Roeser of Blue Oyster Cult. Felder contributed to the Eagles more than just that devilish place, Hotel California.
I’m 60, and recently discovered his 1981 track “All Of You” from YouTube. Even though I saw the animation “Heavy Metal” when it hit the theaters, I don’t recall that song. But then again, I was 👨🏻‍🦳😂🇺🇸

Originally it was suppost to be in E minor but it didnt fit Don Hanley's vocals, so he moved it to B minor
