It is known that the late found of The Eagles Glenn Frey and guitarist Don Felder had an off-again, on-again, off-again, kind of band and friend relationship, but he shared his thoughts on his talented ex-bandmate and also a regret.

Felder’s addition to the Eagles in ‘74 was THE defining event for the band. He not only complimented the immense talent of the other members, he helped propel the band to greatness through his collaboration on song writing, his unique guitar style and sound and his distinct character as a decent guy. Glenn Frey, God bless his soul, will always be remembered as the visionary leader of the Eagles, but Don Felder made the group better!

I grew up listening to the Eagles, I would carry a cassette ghetto blaster on the school bus, and we would all sing the Best Of album ...man those were the days, and then later on, in high school. going to the Midnight Movies to see "Heavy Metal" (the animated movie) and it gave me even MORE appreciation for Don Felder, and of course Hotel California, the soundtrack of our lives! That song is like Stairway To Heaven or Freebird, songs that are timeless and will live on into eternity in our hearts and minds. It's what makes us who we are, God Bless Don and all of The Eagles for their contributions to American Culture and Music. Glenn- Godspeed brother. \m/\m/

Glenn Frey once said that one of the best guitarists he'd ever heard play was Don Felder.

After what Glenn did to Don Felder, he didn’t deserve such a loving and respectful tribute.

Also want to add that I saw the Eagles both during & post Felder & there may be some other great guitar players out there but none match Fingers Felder & Joe Walsh playing off each other. They just fit!

Don Felder strikes me as a kind hearted, decent man. Every interview I have seen of him, he was gracious and very down to earth.

Don't know what happened with the sound, but the moment the text appears over the picture, the sound drops out. I wish you had chosen to put the text at the beginning or end, over black screen. It's too distracting to try and listen to Don's story and read all that text at the same time. But it's true... Don is a classy guy.

I'd love to see all the surviving members get together for one more concert, having guest singers on all the Glenn tunes.  All proceeds can go to charity.  I think that would be an awesome send off.

Here I am commenting again.  I cannot believe the firestorm I set off by making a simple comment concerning Don Felder's reaction to Glen Frey's death.   I will state again that Don Felder is a class act.  Even though they had their differences, Felder did NOTHING but brag on the talent and accomplishments of Glen Frey.  He simply paid his respect to his fellow Eagle in a humble and respectful way.  Just like in his book Heaven and Hell, he acknowledged the talent---singing and songwriting---that Glenn Frey brought to this group.  Yes, they had differences---but instead of being singular minded like so many of you that have misinterpreted that way, Felder mentioned in his book those things he thought was wrong, yet exalted the many virtues of not only Frey but also Henley.   I am amazed and disappointed  that so many of you have made such crude remarks back and forth----you guys remind me of the feuding Republicans running for President!   You are like 3rd graders who say if I don't have my way, I will take my ball and go home!  Please, let's all just drop this back and forth ugly exchange, and let us all appreciate EVERY ONE of the Eagles----past and present.  I love Glen Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner, Don Felder,  Joe Walsh,   and Timothy B. Schmidt.  ALL of these gentlemen are multi-talented, and have brought so much to this great group.   They make all generations of the Eagles what they are and what they will continue to be for many generations in the future.  We will not see the likes of these talented men ever again.

I am a guitar player. Don Felder WAS the guitar genius of the Eagles. Glen wrote great songs, but he and his guitar rode on Don Felders amplifier wings.

I am now an even bigger Don Felder fan after reading his tribute to Glenn Frey! & agree 100% with Mike Parker.
Felder is truly a class act. The Eagles lost a true professioanal when they (Frey & Henley) screwed him over so badly
