This is a new series of short videos of "ECG Tips" that hopefully will help the beginners to build up good basic knowledge in ECG interpretation skills & basic science in an easy way without them even realizing they are learning, then they can use the "EPEC Case Series" to link the dots together & apply the tips to practice.

This is the first tip & it is about the ECG baseline in relation to STEMI.

I hope you find this useful.

Stay safe,

Hesham

Thanks Hesham,
Very interesting.

May you allow me to note few issues:
1- Arguing that the resting point is the level of the preceding TP segment is very controversial. Preceding segment is affected in large by the preceding cycle, I guess. On the other hand, the resting point of the ST segment is the point from which Ventricular depolarization stated, which is the end of the PR segment.

2- To label ST deviation (Elevation or depression), we need both J-point and J60 (or J80) deviated at the same side, as well.

3- identifying the J-point in curved-S-ended QRS-complex may be lower than the mid-curve point. It is more likely the start of the curve.

Thanks for yr kind efforts n best regards.
