Today’s video is all about electrocardiogram (EKG) rhythm interpretation for Nursing Students and NCLEX Review.

An electrocardiogram (EKG) measures the electrical activity of the heart. Patients with chest pain or other related symptoms will need them to confirm if any heart problems are present.

By learning how to interpret them and understand EKG measurements, you'll be able to determine a patient’s care plan. You’ll be able to correctly interpret EKG rhythms in fifteen seconds or fewer by applying Mike's five-system method:

Step 1: Confirm if there are any P waves.
Step 2: Highlight any presence of QRS waves.
Step 3: Measure the PR intervals.
Step 4: Calculate the rate (beats per minute).
Step 5: Classify a rhythm.

My heart rate when I'm calm and not under anxiety or not exercising is usually in mid 50s. I checked my spo2 and it usually is 96-98 bp is normally a little elevated to normal. Just checked right now and numbers were 98 spo2 58 bpm. I do walk a lot and have for quite some time so maybe that's why my heart rate does dip into my 50s. Shrugs.
