Star Wars: Inside the Tie Fighter

I have decided to create another inside-out animation of an iconic Imperial starship, the Tie-Fighter from Star Wars, all in 3D.

. The Tie Fighter was first introduced in the 1977 movie, Star War A New Hope and was commonly used by the Empire to fight against the rebellion. There are several different variations of the Tie fighter including the Tie Bomber, TIE interceptor, Tie Defender, and the TIE Advanced X1 which was used by Darth Vader but in this episode, I just wanted to focus our attention on the standard Tie Fighter.

The backbone and workhorse of the Galactic Empire, the TIE fighter is identified with the Empire’s influence and power. TIE fighters are manufactured in massive numbers and are assigned to a pilot as an expendable asset, much like the pilots themselves. TIE fighters are considered tools to the Empire’s need, and they were designed to be as efficient as possible for the job they do.

The standard TIE/LN model contains no deflector shields, hyperdrive, or life support system. For this reason, they have a much lower range of operation compared to other galactic space fighters, and often need to be ferried into battle by other vessels, such as the menacing Imperial Star Destroyers, Gozanti class cruisers, or the Quasar Fire class carrier.

The Tie-Fighter has a special place in my heart which the different variants never replaced.

Engineer 1: "Is there a way we can make it harder for pilot to see his surroundings?"
Engineer 2: "Sure, we can add solar energy collectors to block the pilot's peripheral vision, and we can give him only a tiny round window."
Engineer 2: "Perfect, let's do it!"

When the targeting computer is bigger then your fuel tank, you have to better think twice to get inside one of those tie fighters. And as always most impressive animation.

To be historically accurate, the Tie Fighters were first seen in the 1977 movie Star Wars. I have this movie, the name was changed later. To me and many others the movie that came out in 1977 is the first Star Wars.

Just last night i was wondering what the blueprints of the Tie fighter was like and i wondered if Halfscreen would do a video about the Tie Fighter. Now this video pops up, nice timing.

I enjoyed the video, keep it up.

The Tie-Fighter's one of the coolest spaceships in *all* of sci-fi! And I *want* one....!

I like these videos and the animated assembly of the ships/fighters with the title of their parts and weaponry and engines. I am 50 now, and I remember my mom and dad, my sister and I going to see Star Wars back in 1977 at the movie theater at the once existing Cloverleaf Mall, in Chesterfield County, VA and The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and Return Of The Jedi in 1983. I do miss that Theater Popcorn and butter with the soft drinks aka Sodas. I've cut out the sodas with syrup and drink the clear ones like Ginger Ale and Sprite as, well as Unsweetened Ice Tea.

I used to be addicted to "Tie Fighter, " the 1994 computer game, back in the day. The Tie Fighter was used for swarm attacks by novice pilots, and the Interceptor, Bomber, Advanced, and Defender versions by more experienced pilots for specialized missions.

2:38 love the audio for that part. It’s almost like you’re watching the enemy put it together and you’re helpless. Mainly cause you over ate the dark side cookies that your revel buddy got a hold of

Beautiful post! Amazing music. Sitting on top of a fuel tank in a fighter with no shield generators, there’s no way to more clearly indicate your pilots are disposable than that! Best regards!

This is amazing, love the modeling work. Modeling ship interiors brought me here. <3

I actually had the toy of the Tie Interceptor and one thing I remember about it is that it had 2 buttons on it to eject the wings.

This is just about the only ship that doesn't pretend to require any wings in space
I like this ship for that

What remember when I first went to the theater to see Star Wars last century there was absolutely no context or explanation of all of it. T.I.E. fighters, X-Wings, land speeders, Star Destroyers, etc..
I love these videos and others that flesh it all out.
