Star Wars: Inside the X-Wing

Here is another detailed look inside the X-Wing in 3D. Animation is done with 3DS Max.

The X-wing was a class of starfighter used by the Rebel Alliance in their conflict with the Galactic Empire.

It made its first appearances in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope as the Incom T-65B model.
The X-wing starfighter was the all-purpose starfighter of the Rebel Alliance and was Known for its versatility and exceptional combat performance.

It possessed deflector shields, an R2 astromech for repairs and navigation, and proton torpedoes.
Compared to the TIE fighter, the X-wing is said to be slower and less maneuverable in space but has superior firepower, defenses, a fast hyperdrive, and four laser canons.

I like this video as it shows the inner workings of the X-Wing Fighter and what made it such a versatile fighter against the Empire and later the First Order.

Nicely done, one point though however, traditionally the X-Wings Proton Torpedo complement is 6, 3 for each launcher, here there's only a single pair, and no room for more far as I can tell.

Funny how you make it all seem real.

Not a fan of the X-Wing... since little was in love with the Storm Trooper helmets.

Tie fighters has that sound to them, and those freaky wings. They are way better but needs their support ships for hyper jumps and "pit stops"... but it makes sense in a battle because some of these support ships were Star Destroyers.

Side note playing VR Star Wars Squadrons... wow... love the tie fighters even more. But the X-Wings does have a wider view, shields and shoots better... and in Star War universe they are able to retreat from a battle without their support ships.

So where are the thrusters to give it vertical lift? Don't know how Falcon does it either...no vertical lift thrusters underneath!! Mandos ship has vertical thrusters!

1978. A child who had watched Lost in Space and Star Trek on a black and white small TV goes to the theater. His jaw already dropped in the first scene of the corellian corvette and now there was the incredible roar of engines preparing for take off. One of the most defining moments in my life. Words cannot describe a kid in seventh heaven.

The design of the X-Wing was an old hold over design the Republic used in the Clone wars fighting the CIS. You can see early iterations of the design concept in Episode 3 during some of the space battles.
