► The UNHEALTHY Coping Mechanisms of INFPs.

Most INFPs engage in ego-defensive survival games when they feel confined and insecure, or their values are undermined. They frequently repress their genuine emotions throughout this stage to look more rigid and impenetrable than they are. As a result, people could misinterpret them and think they dislike them or discriminate against them. When listening to others, they frequently weed out anything that seems unfavourable or irrational. As the situation worsens, individuals start to believe they are the one person genuinely attempting to act morally or positively influence the world. As a result, they develop a growing sense of superiority toward or intolerance for others around them.

I experienced bullying in school, so escaping into another world was my coping mechanism (and it was through video games).

If you have maladaptive daydreaming, you can easily flip the script to turn it into something productive.
Take a problem that is bothering you right now (and which is triggering this kind of escapism), however, instead of allowing your daydreaming to block your progress, remap that bummer to your internal world and see how that is playing out there when the heroes in your mind are tackling it. Whatever result you get, export it to the real world and apply it there. You are most likely to get viable results.

So far this method has worked particularly well for me.

I've done closure and escapism for a LONG time. I'm gkad I got out of it. I haven't hone to my head spaces for this for the last 2 years and I'm so glad for it. I'm doing fine now and I'm happy and content

I'm an infp and i suffered enough for my bad coping mechanism, i was worried about my biochem exam and literally avoided studying that subject and focused on other subjects i like and tomorrow was my exam and my worries and overthinking lead me to having an anxiety attack, i experienced it for the first time this evening
