VERIFY: Are there cheap home remedies that treat lice?

March 20, 2018: It's unfortunately common, but it's something we shy away from talking about: Lice. Before you rush to the store to cure yourself or your child of the bug, the treatment experts have advice for you.

I have found a cheap home remedy that worked for my child and children of friends. Saturate the hair with petroleum jelly. ( Yes I know it's controversial now but better than neuro toxic pesticides). Leave on hair for a few hours with a shower cap. Then queeze out or comb out as much of the petroleum jelly as possible. Shampoo or Wash hair with dawn dishwashers liquid if necessary. Pick out every nit and use a good conditioner after treatment. It is not necessary to purchase expensive products that won't work. I do think a professional lice picker is a good idea if you can not see well or aren't physically able to spend hours picking nits. This is my personal opinion

Oh, weird, the person running the lice removal business said that she advises you go to a lice removal shop.

Coat the hair with Vaseline and leave it on for 6 hours minimum. Every Nit removal is necessary as well cleaning your entire house. U can't just treat the subject, without cleaning the house/bedding/clothes etc.

What kind of comb was she using n where do you find it
