To Jailbreak or not to Jailbreak? That is the question. In our previous episode of Top 5 we discussed the reasons why we believe you should Jailbreak, but still, we know many of you are still debating it. In today's show we go through the top 5 most compelling reasons why you should think twice, or even skip. Some things are just not the right fit, and this could be one of them for you.

Jailbreaking an iPhone is very different to rooting an Android device. On Android, rooting allows you to load custom ROMs that enable you to really push the hardware to the limit. In the case of iOS, Jailbreaking in a way is rooting, but you're limited to only installing additional services to your device, and not necessarily installing a whole new operating system. Some services are worth it, some are genius, and some are half-baked as things always are in the "non-approved" community.

So, if you already jailbroke and you're having second thoughts, our own Taylor Martin also has a video showing you how to remove the Jailbreak in a couple of easy steps as well, so make sure you have a look.

Number 1 reason not to jailbreak:

If you don't know what you're doing right away, don't jailbreak. Simple.

Also there are tweaks that let you get apps for free and purchases in apps for free.

1. That's not a reason lmao. I get that it isn't for some people, and some people don't care enough to jailbreak. But why is that a reason for other people to not Jailbreak?
2. That has been debunked. Hell, Cydia can actually make it safer with certain tweaks.
3. Yes, takes more time. But once you understand how it works, it's normal and easy. (Yes Skype is safe to use, don't be dumb)
4. Not every tweak costs a crazy amount, a lot of the being free. (But I do agree with this one, some tweaks are hella expensive.)
5.a Like +Danneybee said, if you jailbroken your phone, and it crashes, you did something wrong. 95% of jailbreakers have no problems.
5.b Yes, but that's like number 1. Just because you have a hard time, doesn't mean we all do.

Overall, not that good reasons lol.

Number 1 reason is that you can't get it sent for repair if something goes wrong with your phone.

I'm surprised they didn't talk about the warranty considering it's like THE biggest issue on jail breaking

Will jailbreaking erase all your data like updating to the latest iOS and you have to re download your apps and restore?

If I download Cydia without the computer, will I still be able to get viruses? Also, is my phone considered jailbroken if I didn't get Cydia from the computer?

If I wanted a device to customize I would get an android. Honestly the cool thing about an iPhone is that it simple and easy to operate.

You guys do realize this video was made in 2013 and it is currently the year 2015. Technology is always increasing so maybe in the year 2013 people had those problems. Or maybe you guys are all right, maybe he didn't know what the heck he was talking about. 😏

I'm highly considering jail breaking my iPhone 5c but I leave to go to Europe in a week for a 2 week trip. Will this mess anything up?

I would argue nowadays with iOS 8 there's little to no reason to jailbreak and you're better off just going with the experience Apple gives you as that's what you bought into anyway.

On the other hand if you want more control over your device and trust yourself to avoid the risks plus love tweaking and tinkering then I would highly recommend Android. While I myself am a tech enthusiast I don't have much patience for tweaking and tinkering on my smartphone. I favour performance, security and reliability and the stock iOS experience on my new iPhone 6 has given me that.
