How to Balance Zhiyun Crane 2 in Under 60 Seconds

“Learn how to balance the Zhiyun Crane 2 and some tips & tricks for balancing it under 60 seconds every time.

The key to balancing a Zhiyun Crane in under 60 seconds is to write down the hash marks on each of the motors after your properly balance it the first time. Then when you change lens or the weigh of the camera, you can quickly recall the proper balance settings. I keep these notes in my iPhone.

But first you need to learn how to balance the zhiyun crane without hashmarks, and the key to that is to find the center of gravity of the camera. Once you find the center of gravity, try to align it with the axis of each of the motors.

When the crane is properly balanced, the Zhiyun motors won't need to work very hard and you will be able to capture cinematic and smooth shots.”

This was by far the simplest yet so effective to learning how to balance a gimbal. I have been looking for months and glad I found this video. Thank you!

Thank you for this video. I just got my first crane plus and camera ever (two days ago). So all these detailed tips about balancing are very helpful, encouraging and apply to anything. I went through a lot of YouTube videos and this is exactly what I needed! 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

I won’t lie I had to watch it 30 times and I was ready to throw it out the window.

But it’s perfectly balanced now!

This is the best balancing tutorial I've seen. I have the Zhiyun Crane-M (my first motorized gimbal), and have been challenged by the balancing aspect. After watching your video, I feel like I now know that my end game is in that regard. Thanks!

Well explained but to be honest my experience is it doesn´t need that perfect balance at all. At least not as long as you are far away from its max payload. My Canon 80 D with battery grip and a Sigma lens is about 1, 9 Kg which is not a light camera. But even if I do not balance it perfectly or I change the focal length of the lens without changing the balance setting, it works without any issue because the Crane 2 has that much power. And that´s why I love it.

This is super useful, thank you. I totally misses a motor. Now, the problem is trying to get this to balance correctly on a BMPCC6k with a heavier lens...

Wow, i went through many videos, but i seem to have missed out something. But this video just nailed it - especially making note of the markings. else it would have been a pain doing it on location. Thank You.

"It was frustrating, took me half an hour" ... sitting here 4 hours later in a rage. Apparently I'm not that bright.
