It's not sunk, it's preforming "special underwater operation".

Ukraine: Our army sank a Russian ship.
Russia: No, no, OUR army sank our own ship.

Just when you think Moscow could not sink any lower, it literally does.

Ukrainians: " we fired a missile at the ship and sunk it "
Russians: " No that's a lie, we're a bunch of incompetent fools and destroyed our own ship "

A former US General said: "The Russian Army showed its incompetence, so that the Russian Navy was jealous and had to show that they are incompetend, too."

The sophisticated use of equipment by the Ukrainians, never ceases to please and amaze me. So resourceful and ingenious 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 💜

Distract the ship’s air defense with a drone and strike it with two ground-sea missiles, thats genius! Well done Ukraine!

This will have many impacts on Russia's military goals. It not only impacts the artillery and air defense support this war ship provides in the Ukraine conflict, but also on future operations in Syria. This was probably the most combat ready cruiser Russia had. Decades old, but totally not replaceable in view of the current Russian economy and sanctions. It didn't need towing like the Kirov did, at least until the missiles hit. It didn't betray it;s presence with a cloud of smoke like their (only) aircraft carrier does. Yes, it has 2 sister ships, but their readiness level is less and they had other duties. Should the flagships of the Northern or Pacific fleets be assigned as a replacement for the Black Sea flagship? What replaces them? What if they are lost too? Putin is truly Russia's worse enemy.

The Moscow, named after Russian capital (Moskva in Russian) was the Flag Ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, and is the largest warship sunk since WW2.
Putin couldn't get a bloodier nose than this shock event.

Maybe the Russians should answer why they can securely handle nuclear weapons if they can't even keep their troops from smoking in the ammunition room?

It was not the first use of NEPTUNE. Those anti-ship missles were used against Russian frigate Admiral Essen. This Frigate was badly damaged too.

yOU GUYS ARE THE ONLY ONES who put very sarcastic and hinting questions about the incident. Gratitude for this!

It didn't sink, it was merely assigned to new submariner operations. An impressive feat to lose the flagship in a naval engagement to a nation without a Navy. Respect Ukraine much respect.

Russian Headline "Russian Cruiser successfully intercepts 2 Ukrainian Missiles with it's own Hull..."

So good to see honest reporting by courageous reporters at the front lines.

It was unkind of the Russians to take the Moskva so far from shore before she sank. She would have made a nice addition to the Ukrainians' tank collection.

Ukraine just destroyed 20% of Russia's cruiser force. Russia doesn't have the capability to build more cruisers because they were built in Ukrainian shipyards before the breakup of the USSR.

First rule they teach you in Navy basic training... "Don't blow up your own ship."
