Comparing my Canon G7x Mark ii to SONY ZV-1 from a YouTuber’s perspective

CAMERA COMPARISON:
2024 update: I no longer use my SONY camera and haven't been using it for over a year. the quality is very unpredictable and can be very grainy. I have tried resetting the settings, messing with the settings and had no luck. Whereas the canon hasn't failed me yet.

After getting the Sony Zv-1 I also noticed the battery issue, but unlike Canon (that I also have) you can have the wall charger or an external battery to charge the Sony while filming.

The only issue is that if you want to record to the max abilities, like 4k, and 60fps, it might overheat in 15 minutes and turn off itself. But at regular full HD videos, I had no overheating problems, and been able to record for hours, multiple videos, without turning the camera off.

You can plug your zv1 micro usb into a charger like for your phone or computer and film off of that when at your house. You can use a large external battery when in the go (when in a pinch)

The canon mark ii can have an issue with dropped pixels. You can notice in this video at the bottom because you have a black sweater on. As someone with darker skin I had to return a used one for that issue 🥲

Both are good but the Canon has always been better on colors and that beautiful film type look...same is for this one. Sony is really good but is almost too sharp, not as natural and the audio on the Canon is better for on camera mic.

Love it! I think I’ll stick with my canon! I’m just having trouble with the autofocus while Filming because you can hear the camera focusing while editing

to stop the sony tipping over make sure one of the tripod legs is under the open screen.
