I just bought one and i can tell u that im very much impressed with the quality of it as well. I have iphone 14 pro max but i still prefer shooting pictures with g7x II that’s why I always carry it around

Someone has probably already pointed this out, but the G7X series cameras are not APSC sensors. They have smaller 1'' type CMOS sensors

I also recently bought a Canon G7X Mark III. I thought the video was unclear, but when I set it to VideoBlog mode, I was able to get clear images!

I bought this last year. It’s my everyday carry. I don’t take much video but I shoot tons of photos with it. It’s a great little camera.

If you have the Mark II and it works, keep it. If you don't own one, don't bother with the Mark II. Canon no longer supports the Mark II and no longer makes parts for it. This also means that most pro shops don't support repairs because many of the parts have dried up, outside of Chinese knock-offs. The Mark III is still supported, and you should consider other brands when you do your research. There are other less expensive cameras with similar features. Bottom line- do your homework. Cheers

The Canon g7x Mark 2 is a beautiful and terrific camera for beginners but unfortunately there's a huge design fault with the inbuilt sensor.
Overtime pushing the camera through it's paces it developed hot pixels which is a permanent problem
Which requires the lens sensor to be replaced by Canon.
Because of this reason I had to purchase a whole new camera
So personally don't waste your time and money get yourself a better higher quality camera.

I just looked the camera up out of curiosity this week and it's crazy that it's sold out everywhere and really marked up with bundles on Amazon and other sellers.

I have been on the look out for great point and shoot cameras because I know whenever I get my DSLR I always have to edit the photos and it's troublesome to be carrying arround the massive bulk of my camera and lens everywhere so I tend to just not do it unless I have a photoshot or something and my phone just doesn't make the cut for me (Decent photos for sure! But it's all about that big sensor look)

And I think having a Point and Shoot camera with me at all times is just going to give me better results, and make me take a whole lot more photos! Thanks, this G7 X II (or the new III) seem to be the best option for me!

I have one! The photo and video are excellent! I was lucky enough to buy one for $250 in new condition. I carry my everywhere.

I have taken almost 50K pics with mine and it has paid for itself many, many times over ...left with many Satisfied Customers even though being an event photographer was not my intention when I got it ....I am sooo surprised it hasn't died yet....being a small point and shoot makes it great for moving quickly all around and nettling in between people in a crowd and zooming in capturing little happening images. if i tap that part in the screen it'll capture the hard to get angles. i.e. ocean baptism a lot of fast clicking 'the subjects' whenever about to go underwater Click 'the Subject' come back up Click splash water and facial expression CLICK Awesome Wonderful little camera

Canon color is probably the thing. My first digital camera was the PowerShot A95 from 2005, and it was already impressive. Like a healthy human eye, no need for corrections.

I did many videos on this camera back in the day (like the entire Getting Better Day By Day series on my Youtube channel). The autofocus is really bad, and I too used manual focus. HOWEVER it‘s a bit tricky to set up if you‘re more than an arm‘s length away from the camera. The app Canon Camera Connect also doesn‘t work so great. What I ended up doing was putting a long, upright foam roller on a chair where I would be standing, manual focus on that 😂 did that for a couple of years twice a week until my Youtube was big enough to buy a better camera. 😅 Still own the GX7 though, makes lovely fotos, great picture profile

I have the M50 and the G7X Mark II. The M50 is obviously going to be more versatile with its interchangeable lenses and ability to use the full range of Canon lenses with adapters. However, the G7 is a completely different beast - perfect travel cam, street cam and on the go video cam. M50 is still a big chunk of camera and not so easy to lug around. Hence, I have both ;-)

If it not APS-C, it is one inch or 1.0-type as it not said. The sensor is about 16 mm when APS-C is about 27 mm, The Sony sensor is good and the fast lens means it about matches normal DSLR-kits. Phones and compact cameras have about 8 mm sensors.

Great review!

I am considering purchasing the G7 X Mark III, the update to the Mark II for my everyday camera. Canon sure nails the color science with their cameras.

Based on what I see online, the G7 X Mark II is selling like hotcakes. In fact, it was on backorder about a week ago on B&H Photo and on other camera retailers.

I do hope Canon releases the Mark IV soon due to the fact that many people are still buying their compact cameras.

I've had a Canon M50 for the last couple of years and since photography is a hobby for me, I feel like I've spent so much money on lenses that I kind of regret due to how little I use them. However, I do use my iPhone 13 Pro camera a lot... So I'm realizing I love taking pictures but I need something more pocketable. Definitely considering selling my M50 for a G7X Mark II. Most people do the reverse but I'm thinking a point and shoot might be the way to go.

My first G7X Mark ii filled with dust. I replaced it in 2023 with another G7X Mark ii. But this one will not go in my purse without a case again!
