I really appreciate that you DON'T always go to really "epic" locations, since the locations you go to are similar to what is normally available to me.

One reason I am not publishing my photos online is that one negative comment has more impact than ten positive ones (or probably even way more). I really enjoy your content, be it YouTube, books, courses, whatever. I appreciate being part of your journey, seeing the changes and your development. And I envy you for having arrived at a state, where you can enjoy the "little things in your backyard". So rock on, haters gonna hate! Thanks for doing this.

I would love to see you do some street photography! Finding serenity in the urban landscape.

As a relative beginner in photography I love to hear your guidance. I particularly like when you urge us to shoot for ourselves and not be dictated to by others, and your advice not to chase a style, just take photographs and let the style develop naturally.

If I was to describe your style I would say you chase beauty and capture it in the most ordinary places. To my eye, your photos, whether taken in iconic locations or your local woodland, are uniquely beautiful. Thanks as always for your inspiration.

Honestly, going out and shooting my local conservation areas has been fun and an amazing learning experience. Seeing someone like you taking the same approach and giving your thoughts on it is always good reassurance that what im doing is just as valid as going to the big landmarks. I always learn a lot from you.

In terms of the comment made to you about being repetitive, my response would be, why wouldn't you want to go out and shoot what you have been doing as you've proven Mads how beautiful your country really is. From a personal basis it is great to see a part of the world that I and probably the majority of viewers will never get to experience in its intimacy so to see you it through your eyes and your lens is fantastic.

In relation to your question and as a long time follower, I would describe your style as highly adaptable. You have demonstrated time and time again Mads your ability to immerse yourself in a landscape and to extract the best from it through your images. Whether it's the grand vistas, the ethereal look, abstract, escapism to name a few you always bring a scene to life and always leave the viewer wanting to see more and have that great feeling of well being and being inspired after seeing your work 🙂

Great video. I love that you said that the image you create is NOT reality and make your picture what YOU want.

Good video Mads - and I absolutely agree, whilst taking those iconic images are fun, there's nothing quite like unearthing the gem that's in that quiet corner or off the beaten track. That is what nourishes my soul...

Do not stop what you're doing and the way you do it. Your photos are just magical. So much so that the one you did at Glencoe with the trees reflected into a lake with the Milky Way is now on the home screen of my phone as I simply love it. The inspiration you give people can not be stated enough. On the worst of days when I feel like my learning is going backwards, I think of the vlogs in which you felt the same, where there is always something learnt from the worst of days and tomorrow will be different.

I could not agree more, if everyone else used the same settings compositions editing then no one would have their own unique style in photography, people say to me that they know a photo is mine when I show it.

Keep doing what you like doing Mads! Evolve or change if you want to, but for me it's about the way you present your videos as much as the content itself; you just see how much you love being out doing this and that's what I like about your channel! If you're enjoying it, you'll always make successful videos!

You are in principle right Mads. Ansel was doing it with his film pictures and now in the digital world it's even more valid. Raw must be edited. But we have to take care to make a "reasonable" and credible editing: there are too many overedited photos all around the social media, which are more counterfeits rather than photos.

Great great video, as usual! I love that you talked about the mistake of chasing a style. I was just talking about this a few days ago with some friends. My portfolio contains not only a fair variety of photographic styles but also editing styles. I mentioned to my friends that the idea of chaining myself to a single style sounds very burdensome and restrictive to me. They agreed, saying that they like the variety of styles that they see in my work.

I have an attention span of a goldfish, so if anyone told me I'd sit through a 30-minute YT video, I wouldn't believe them. Yet here I am. :)
Great video, Mads!

Mads, I think if I had to describe your style I would say it was ‘joyous’. You seem to be so inspired by what you see and are able to transmit this to the viewer. Thank you.
