Great example! It was interesting seeing the images and I paused at times to think what you found wrong and mostly your comments aligned. Great exercise and tips to see how we can be more mindful. 😁 after thought, man, you’ve been to some epic places!

I didn't know you came to Belgium!
Thanks for this video - it's not easy to show work you're no longer perfectly satisfied with to the world.
That said, I think it was a normal part of your learning experience. It's just that now we're so spoilt to have so many landscape photographers showing not only their brilliant work, but their thought process and tricks, all for free. As the cliché goes, it feels wrong ;)
It seems like over time, without even realising, I have passively "absorbed" several skills and ways of seeing, composing, etc., from a small handful of photographers I follow, and more than once have surprised myself with some shots I was able to take.

hi Guido, thank you for honestly showing your own mistakes. I think every photographer has this collection. But you really have to distinguish between a photo trip and a trip with the family. Family holidays are timed quite differently and you are often in the best places at the wrong time of day. My experience is that you can take really good photos when you are completely independent of time, have enough time at the locations and can calmly determine the composition and wait for the right light. A photo trip is a photo trip and a family holiday is a family holiday. everything has its time. 😉✌ and forget f22 😂😂

Hi Guido
What can I say, another great, honest video. I can really relate to your first point, rushing. Sadly I have been guilty of this. Time can sometimes be a constraint. I have learnt to scout first using my phone to record locations I’d like to come too. I will do this when I’m out with my husband, or other family members and friends and by myself, but the actual photography trip I do is on my lonesome. The only time I might shoot with others is on an organised shoot with other photographers. Photography is my passion, I don’t expect others to understand my passion and the time I need to for fill it. The other point that really resonated with me was eye level. Guilty! I guess that’s why I like to get the drone out, because it forces me think about what I want in the composition. However I still make the same mistakes at times. Love your content and your honesty in your journey. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙂🙂

Coulda Shoulda Woulda! The decisive instant for the light or subject. We have focus stacking now and that helps use a wider aperture. A lot of those images aren't bad at all. The t-16 and f-22 are prettymuch useless but the one with the briges and the animals in Namibia are interesting. I remnember one time getting caught in a sandstorm I said we are staying here. Found a motel and the next day got wonderfuls shots in Monument Valley, other people were rushing to their reservations. I really appreciate the time that you put into this, almost new year resolutions for photographers

Like your honesty, and yes we have all been there. One of my mistakes is not leaving enough breathing space, eg filling the frame to much/ to close. I have just had fifteen days i Forster, NSW Australia, It was a visit to my wifes sister who's health is not so good but she loves getting out chasing bird images so it was perfect for me but late starts and only out for three hours max was a bit disheartening but managed to get some great shots. Was unable to get Landscape images as we were driven to bird areas and missed out on most of the beaut beaches and Lakes, they take time and I do like the early morning and the blue hour and yes you still have some great shots. Cheers from New Zealand
