When I was about 6 or 7 my family has a large Great Dane which to me was a literal giraffe. I remember whenever I sat down to watch TV Abby would walk over to me and lay down, she was very sweet and protective of my family. I will never forget her though

My aunt had a Great Dane. Size of a damned pony. The first time I went to their house I was sitting on the couch and this giant dog came over. He looked at me. Turned around so his butt was facing me…turned his head so he could look over his shoulder…then backed up until his rump hit my lap….then sat down on me. ISTG I could hear the *beep beep beep* of a construction truck backing up 😭

I grew up with Great Danes and they permanently affected my idea of what size dogs should be. I look at, like, a Labrador and I'm just going, 'Oh, what a cute little dog' :)

Great Danes are arguably the sweetest gentle giants ever. I just ADORE them. I had a Great Dane named Maggi "Moo-Moo". Ugh, I miss her.
