I’m a vet assistant. At my last clinic we had gotten a call that someone’s jack russell got attacked by 3 coyotes. When the dog came in, it was torn to shreds, but everything was intact. He actually ended up chasing the coyotes off on his own. That dog took almost no sedation and stood through every single stitch without reacting. Coolest fucking dog I’ve ever met.

As an owner of a Jack Russell, this is wildly accurate. He's 18 this year and mellowed out with age, but he's a warrior.

As a man who just lost his 14 yead old jack russel terrier
I can confirm they are the damn bravest dogs ever for their size

I was amused up until the "He's winning" line. Than I laughed so hard I fell out of my chair. My wife thought I was having a stroke.

I worked for a company where my boss had a Jack Russell Terrier. He brought the dog everyday with him to the company. When the dog entered the building he straight went to every office to be greeted and get some pets by going to everyone in that office, then sat right next to door to the shop. Once someone opened the door he's going to the first dude he sees in the shop waiting patiently to get some rubs and that dude to give him a cleaning towel with a knot which he carry to everyone in the shop to play with him, then leaving the shop trough the logistics, running around to the main building front door and getting to my bosses office to have a nap. He repeated this when the shifts were changing. Also, my boss trusted his dog that much, that he never did once business when the dog dislike the other guy. I know for a fact that the dog was right at least once.

My neighbor's got a Jack Russel Terrier, the dog's actions were unpredictable. One day the dog lets me pet him, the other day he acts like a wild dog.

“Yeah, he’s fighting a bear…”
Long pause
“I mean, he’s winning.”

Small dogs are something else.

I once found a lost jack russel. he was the cutest thing ever and actually came to ask for help, so smart too! We had cats and he was okay with them, well raised, probably with cats. We eventually found the owner, but since then I just love jack russels ❤

Of course they are winning! The mailman, the joggers, the cyclists, the Scottish Deerhounds, the bears... everybody has that ringing in their ears, from the loud unstoppable barking - how are they supposed to concentrate on the actual fight, with all that jumping and the noise going on???
Thank you for that one, spot on! 😘

I hate it when my dog starts fighting bears on our morning walk. We've ended up on the RSPCA blacklist.

We had a jack russel when I was younger. There was a time when I got sick and couldn't leave bed for a whole week. Ever since, when I come home from school, he'd sit by my room's door (I didn't let dogs in my room) and follow me everywhere I go. He didn't go to drink water nor eat and just sat there as if he was my personal bodyguard until dad comes home (so that's about 3 hrs of sitting still every weekday) as if they were taking shifts. I miss him. Love you Dudley! Wishing you are having lots of toys and sticks up in the heaven!
