Progression – EP 5 Making a Decision

Embarking on an overnight in the hammocks with my son in cold wet conditions. We made a plan and it panned out. But there was a decision to be made.

No doe tags in the area I bow hunt, they are almost tame, you can get real close.

I don’t shoot does that have fawns. I know guys do and say the fawn will be fine but it’s just not for me. Pretty early in life to lose momma. I’d be more apt to shoot the fawn. I don’t hunt fawns either, but you put a yearling whitetail fawn in front of me with a B tag in pocket, I’m probably sending it.😋. Best wild game I’ve eaten.

Fawn would be fine. They are able to survive if they lose their mother in the fall. Take the shot.
