I have no carplay option in my iphone on ios15. Tried all sorts of fix carplay still refuse to show.

My phone is up to date, I’m using a MFI certified cable, my phone is charging so I know it’s a secure connection.
I see my Subaru in the CarPlay settings.
All of the apps I use on CarPlay are updated. I’ve powered off the infotainment unit by holding the volume button down and then waiting 30 seconds before holding it down again to power it back up.

Im stumped.

The icon for my CarPlay is visible, but it’s sort of gray, and when I click on the icon it doesn’t respond.

I’ve reached out to my car salesman for more troubleshooting advice.

Is there anything else you’d suggest?

I was having pops and clicks issue when playing music with CarPlay (iOS 15) and the settings>screen time >content privacy >toggle on content privacy restrictions, this option worked! Keep this on because if turned off the problem returns…thank you so much!
