How to View the Files From Your Android on Your Computer + Empty Folder FIX

This is a simple tutorial on how to find your Android smartphone files on your computer when hooked up with a USB cable.
This is also a fix when you find nothing in your phone's file when you try to open it.

My Alcatel A3 XL phone videos are NOT showing in the DCIM folder whenever I upload them, via USB, to my laptop. Don't know why this problem should suddenly have occurred, as prior to this it was working fine. Do you think using up too much space with my latest videos may have cause this problem?

I need help with my Samsung Note 6 Tablet - 10 ys. old.

I have a lot of music on it and want to take it off and put it
on another device. It plays the music - I see the songs,
but when I plug it up to my computer and locate the folder
it says that it's EMPTY! So I cannot move it out into
another device.

It's ALSO VERY FULL - 98%. I did see your video on freeing

Do you know how to make the . folders (folders with . at the start of their names ) visible ? those were always visible on my xperia phone, byt now that i have a note 8, they arent anymore,

My issue is that my PC won't show the VIDEOS in my DCIM folder on my SD
card. Photos are still appearing in the folder as usual. I am stumped.
My only options are to connect my Android as a MIDI device (nope), USB
tethering (nope), charging (nope), transferring images (only shows my
photos and not the videos in the folder) or as a media device (shows
nothing at all in DCIM folder. I amtotally stumped. There used to be an
option to connect as MTP and this used to work. That option has now
disappeared.
