Their first aborted drug deal leaves Walt and Jesse to dispose of a pair of corpses, while Skyler suspects that her husband is up to no good.

Season One - Episode Two: "Cat's in the Bag..."

Episode Description:
Walt and Jesse (Aaron Paul) attempt to tie up loose ends. The desperate situation gets more complicated with the flip of a coin. Walt's wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn), becomes suspicious of Walt's strange behavior.

Episode Overview:
Now that his initial foray into the world of drug dealing has ended in the deaths of Krazy-8 and Emilio, Walt is no longer sure that he has what it takes to be Jesse’s partner. While he’s determined to end the arrangement just as soon as they dispose of the corpses, things take an unexpected turn when Krazy-8 slowly comes to life. Storing their makeshift motor home drug lab at Jesse’s, Walt heads home to plan his next move. However, after Jesse calls to demand that he take care of their unfinished business now, Skyler suspects that her husband is up to something. And with Skyler looking to satisfy her curiosity, Walt arrives at Jesse’s just in time to stop Krazy-8 from wandering off.

Unaware that Skyler is hot on his trail, Walt prepares to use some powerful acid he swiped from school to get rid of Emilio’s corpse. Though Walt wonders if they could possibly persuade Krazy-8 to join their fledgling drug ring, once Jesse points out his penchant for deadly revenge, it becomes clear that they are going to have to finish him off, too. So, after using a motorcycle lock to make sure Krazy-8 stays put, Walt gets the task of killing him, leaving Jesse to dispose of Emilio. Meanwhile, when confronted by Skyler, Walt claims that Jesse is a local drug dealer who has been selling him marijuana.

After an unexpected driveway confrontation with Walt’s angry wife, Jesse decides to cut a few corners and use his upstairs bathtub to liquefy Emilio. Once Walt returns, Jesse takes him to task for having revealed too much to Skyler. But as the two are arguing, Jesse gets a harsh lesson in chemistry when the acid dissolves Emilio’s body, the tub, floor, and ceiling before depositing a gooey, bloody mess on his kitchen floor.

For those of you who don't know, the reason why Walt had a hard time coming up with an example for this is because the first example that came up to his mind was Meth, which is itself a Chirality. While the righthanded version of it is the drug we all know, the left handed version of it is an innocent nasal blockage medicine. This is one of the most common examples when talking about Chirality, and it's the first one to come to Walt's mind, but he didn't wanna talk about it. This show has so much detail.

It’s actually kinda sad watching scenes of him as a teacher knowing his full potential

I know it's fictional here, but I had an overqualified physics teacher and he just energized everyone simply by being a goddamn genius. People like him and Walt are just built different.
I think he's a researcher now.

1:39 that soft "What?" Is so good. I can't get over how incredible this man's acting is

This scene was filmed at Rio Ranch High School in room SC201. The stuff on the board and in the demonstrations were provided by the uncredited Mark Leonard, a retired physical science teacher who died in a tragic skiing accident a few years ago. The producers added more glassware and posters to fill the space. The students were actual Rio Rancho students.

It's funny how his teaching lessons relate to certain things in the show that you see in the episodes to come like how he himself is a right-handed and left-handed isomer, which can be seen as Walter White and Heisenberg. "Although they may look the same, they don't always behave the same." God, I love this show. Vince Gilligan, you are a genius!

it's sad to see walt have so much passion for the subject he loves, only for him to teach it to nobody who appreciates it, imagine being so invested in something that interests you, but you have no one to share it with, no one else was able to relate to walt's proficiency in chemistry (save for gale but that was later on), so when he decided to start living life on his own terms, he decided to share his devotion to chemistry in a way that other people can certainly experience, meth, and to this end, lives were ruined and all the while, walt's ego was fed to a degree that allowed him to establish a meaning for his existence, what a beautiful show

ride.

1:38 it's really strange they replaced the sound of a metal pipe falling on concrete with this weird, disappointing noise instead. What a strange retcon

This scene is pure genius. He’s basically showing us his character arc for the season. “While they look the same, they don’t behave the same.” Same with Mr. White and Heisenberg.

You’re just here to hear the actual sound effect

I cant believe they edited out the metal pipe sound effect just to post this clip to youtube, they really wanted to give something special to those who watched it as it aired on the television. Bravo Vince!

The beauty of this show is that each chemistry lesson Walt gives mirrors Walt's transformation and dichotomy in behaviours

"Which is precisely what happened in the 1950s" Walt was born in the 1950s.

You wonder if Walt would've felt more fulfilled if he'd been a college Chemistry professor instead. He was certainly qualified for it without a doubt.

I’d love to see Walter and Jesse back when they were in school. But they probably can’t now since both actors are so old
