These have to be the most endearing scenes of Walt. Away from (most of) his ego, charismatically dorky, interesting, and earnestly enjoying the science. Season One’s high school teacher dynamic was a great one

tf is wrong with these kids. When I was in highschool the entire class would lose their head over what they saw.

Wonder how his students reacted when they discovered their former teacher was the drug kingpin Heisenberg

Alternate universe: Walter had good students.

And so, Walter loved being a teacher. All of his students, except for a small group, loved his classes and the way he brought practical examples to his explanations.
Walter was loved and admired by his students, which kept him happy in his place.
After discovering his cancer diagnosis, Walter considered letting it pass and leave this life when it was the time...
But he remembered his wife, his son and his students... His death would not only affect his family, but the kids who looked up to him as an example.
When Elliot offered to help, Walter had almost refused due to his pride, but he knew no one else would help him with such high amounts of money... And knowing his class would no longer have their favorite teacher, and his family would never be the same after his death... He humbly accepted the offer.

Walter fought through cancer, and made it all the way to the ripe age of 80... Leaving many excellent chemists behind his teachings... Every one of them wanting to become as good as he was.

“The study of change”
That can easily apply to Walter White
We see him go from a mild mannered chemistry teacher to a tough drug kingpin mastermind

This guy is really good at chemistry, hopefully he doesn’t use the knowledge to make drugs or whatever

I got sad that Walt got fired from the school in early season 3, you could tell he was passionate in what he did

The plot of the entire show is actually portrayed in this scene. As Walter said: It's growth, then decay and transformation. It portraits the life of Walter up to this point, and his future. He was a creator of a business ( growth), a high school chemistry teacher( decay) and finnaly the monster he ends up becoming for his own good (transformation)

I get the feeling the Chad character was meant to have a bigger role that never materialised since since they bothered to name him and give him two scenes here and in the car wash.

Maybe he was meant to be one of Jesse’s replacements since there was supposed to be a new assistant to Walt every season - thank Christ they changed that - but it seems odd that they’d bother to establish him and then do nothing with him.

As an AP Chem student, the show has been one of the reasons I like chemistry. I understand Walt’s explanations and I wish they did add more scenes of him teaching Chem.

As someone who was terrible at science in high school, I wish I could have had a professor like Walter White. I never hated the subject, I just wasn’t very good at learning it and I can only imagine being a much better student in that kind of classroom.

I have a very small list of shows that I can randomly watch episodes and never ever get sick of them. Breaking Bad is on that list. Specially the last two seasons.

Breaking Bad was and is brilliant. You can breakdown and analyze so much of it and get something new each time.
And if nobody has yet.. now that Saul is over it's beyond awesome to watch Saul, Breaking Bad, and El'Camino... It's like a very long movie.

You have a feeling that Chad spent the rest of his life, after learning about all the people Walter White murdered, waking up in a cold sweet remembering how much he antagonized Heisenberg? Or do you think Heisenberg just had him killed in the last season, off camera?

I like how Walt defines chemistry. The study of change can also apply to Walt's character arc throughout the show.
