So where is the flat glowing HD seen in the image for the video?

You’re making a huge argument for just building a gaming PC

I bought a 1tb card of Amazon and got lucky they sent me 2 for 1

Games are large cause some devs dont know how to compress the files.

Mandatory Series X versions/updates is a problem too. There's no reason for games like RE2 and 3, Persona 3P, 4, and 5, or other older games to be forced onto players, especially since other Series X optimized games CAN run off an HDD

They just need to release bigger memory cards (which I do like) but make them twice the size and half the cost.

It is nearly impossible to get the 2tb seagate for the Xbox Series X Over here in Ireland without paying a arm and a leg for it, as for WD the max they are doing it only the 1TB, they need to be a lot cheaper than what they are now charging for them. Esp for the prices they charge for them over here in Ireland.

They need to make it so you can put whatever size internal you want into it. I got there 2TB upgrade card. And I got that filled. So I have 3TB, internal. That's filled and now I got an 8TB external that I have 50% filled.

I have 3 TB for Series games.
2tb expansion card that I got on sale and, of course, the Series X built in memory.
4TB external for non Series/Non optimised. It works for me.

However, I do think they need to lower the price on those expansion cards. It also sucks that there is only one expansion card port.
It would be nice to have 2 plugged in.

Wonder if they never announced larger cards because they are cost prohibitive.

moving between HDD to internal is my go to, it’s nice having the bulk of gamepass downloaded locally

I’ve seen a 10 TB External hard drive on Amazon for about $110 bucks!

Destiny 2 literally had to sunset DLC content as the full install size was over the max for the console manufacturers limits.

The extra hard drive space is needed to store all those extra frames per second that aren't being shown on screen.

Need to have universal compatibility with any ssd, internal, and/or external.

After buying my Series X, I immediately had to buy an additional 1TB storage expansion module. Just compress the textures a bit on these new games. They should do what Dice did with BF3 where you had the option to use standard textures or install an optional HD texture pack. I also tried adding a 512GB high speed SanDisk USB flash drive to store Xbox and Xbox 360 games but I had to reinsert it every boot up or it wouldn't mount and sometimes it would randomly dismount itself in the middle of play. Not sure if it's an issue with the Xbox firmware or the drive, but I gave up and had to abandon it.

Since my Fiber Internet can go up to 8 Gbps, I pretty much don’t care how big a game could be. However, since we’re limited to storage, I still keep an eye on the size. I just wish the Xbox would have 2 to 4 slots for external drive. And we could purchase a NVME 2280 enclosure compatible with those slots (since most NVME will be fast enough to be seen as native Xbox expansion drives). This is no different from a PC, and it would open the door for custom NVME choice, and with 2 to 4 slots, we could easily have 4 x 4TB of storage if we want, even 4 x 8TB if you’re rich enough… that would be plenty of storage space for all the modern games.

As a professional artist at a game dev, I can tell you that most of the data are the 4k texture maps/shaders. Until we adopt a better way to store texture information on the polygons, we'll continue to use flat, unwrapped 2d texture map files that gobble up massive amounts of space. One thing that would really help would be to let the user download an alternative version of the game with half texture map sizes(2k maps instead of 4k). Texture detail might not be as nice, but for some of us that aren't always gaming on 4k displays anyways, it would be nice to have that option. That's why Switch ports are always so much smaller. It's mostly the textures.
