How to Make Google the Default Search Engine in Microsoft Edge

If you want to use Microsoft Edge but not Bing as your search engine, in this video I show you how to change the default search engine to Google. I'll also show you how to add to the list of search engines included with the browser. For instance, instead of Google, you might want to use Ecosia.

Microsoft Edge is available as a free download for Windows 10, macOS, Linux, and mobile operating systems.

The default search engine in Edge determines the engine used when you search from the browser address bar. The default engine can be changed to Google for example. You can select from a list of included search engines or add a search engine of your choice to the list and then set it as default.

Thank you. I prefer Edge over Chrome because of the speed and solving the ram issue but Bing is just god awful compared to Google.

Oh my goodness! This is the easiest way to change back to Google. I can't thank you enough! I used to like Bing, but they don't let you copy links, if you do, it just shows "Bing something or other" I hate that, you can't tell what you've copied unless you open it. What a huge waste of time, or am I doing it wrong? Anyway, I like Google better and you saved me a lot of headaches. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, SO VERY MUCH! :)

This wasn't working for me, until I realized something. After you do what he tells you to in the video, make sure that when you type whatever topic you are searching for in the address bar, it doesn't say "Bing Search" next to it. You need to retype whatever you are searching for, and it must say "Google Search" next to what you typed in the address bar. If you searched for that same topic previously in Bing, it will autofill and bring you right back to Bing again. Type your topic out fully again and make sure it doesn't say "Bing Search" next to it.
