For msfs 2020, the game w code was pretty much written on top of the gsx code, meaning multithreaded operations wasn’t available but I think 4 years later, Microsoft wouldn’t get away with not making it multi threaded, meaning that the cup limit will not be as big in 2024.

TLDR, if you can run 2020, you can run 2024

edit: as long as your internet is good, you should run it fine if you met the recommend specs for 2020. Obviously it would run better on lower resolution.

MSFS2024 is suppose to use all your cores rather than just single core on 2020

I vent from an i7 7700K to an I5 14600K and from 30fps on medium and high to 60fps on high to ultra settings with the same RTX 3070Ti. CPU made a big difference for me.

They've apparently vastly improved multithreading in '24 so hopefully all is well

Let's be honest. We are all guessing in the dark until we actually get to try it on a variety of hardware. Only then will we learn which components are the limiting factors, and by how much .

Looking forward to seeing VR performance gain.

Great video. Now that I've upgraded from a 3600X to a 5800x3D, and the 2060Super to a 4070Ti Super, I think I'll hold off on purchasing any more upgrades (and FS2024) until I see some performance reviews. If needed, I'll upgrade the CPU/Mobo combo to the faster 7800X3D, but I really don't look forward to having to do that right away.

i have the 1050ti for msfs2020 but im worried about msfs 2024 because 1050ti is a little bit below minimum requirements for MSFS2020

Bandwidth requirements will affect many

they said early on that flight sim 2024 would have much improved multithreading.

I run 2020 with intel core 5 and iT works perfectly.

Heres the thing, tho.

I would like to understand the extent to which the game's performance will be impacted if the ONLY concern is the 16gb RAM. With an RTX 4070 Ti, i7 13th generation processor, 1TB SSD, 12GB VRAM, 360hz display, and 16GB RAM, it seems unlikely that I will be unable to run the game at 1080p 60fps max settings. Now, if the RAM does indeed make a significant difference despite these specifications, it may discourage many potential players, including myself. The game's popularity and financial success heavily rely on its optimization. 💯

and is it ok for iris xe graphic to run ?

I’d imagine a 4060 1080p with high setting will still be good at 16gig ram

5800X3D, 4090, 32GB can barely contain my excitment to try this out in VR, Im sure my rig will cope ok.

From what I have hears FS 2024 does some substantial multi threading now.

The performance table seems like quickly put up together table with random letters and numbers, because some options does not make sense. Yes of course current gen xbox has to run the new sim, that means that the lowest performance option has to stay low thats why we see the minimum requirement so low = matching xbox performance. Probably gauranteed 60 fps at FHD? Well it does not matter that much to me in the end, because I wont be jumping straight in the new sim. Planning on buying it on sale in 2025. Until then pretty satisfied with the FS2020.

I'm quite worried about this in particular. I'm hoping my PC with a gtx 1650 and I5 9400 will Run it well, as I really can't fork out for a new PC when I'm paying for flight training IRL.
