This 60-min yoga class is focused on the AIR element. This element is deeply connected to the Anahata ‘Heart’ Chakra. Building strength through the back, core and chest to allow the heart to open and work towards stronger and deeper backbends.

In your practice you can use your arms like wings to ‘fly’ seamlessly from one pose to the next. Your practice should feel light in movement, supported throughout by the breath, oxygen, the air in your lungs. Acknowledge the emotions of compassion, kindness, peace and love when connecting to this element. You can incorporate lots of heart opening poses in your practice such as Wheel pose, Bow pose, Dancer pose, and Cobra pose to engage the back muscles and open the chest. Remember that air is fundamental to being alive, so let’s honour it!

We will start this practice with an Alternate Nostril Breathing practice (Nadhi Shodhana).
