The most annoying part is how they get mad at you for literally just wanting to sit in the seat you paid for…

People have just offered my family to switch seats so we could sit together even if we didn’t ask. Those people were really kind.

Imagine getting mad at someone for asking to sit in the seat THEY PAID FOR

There was one time this couple asked me to change seat so that their 10 year old son can sit with them, they asked very politely, and I agree. After getting a switch to their child’s seat, an elderly came and said that seat was her’s, I said it was mine since I switch with the couple’s child. Then the flight attendant checked, it was double booked.

We both were given a choice to switch place, the old lady insisted that she wanted the seat because she bought that window seat, then I said I’m fine wherever as long as I got my prebooked meal. Then that kind flight attendant said she will give me free upgrade to business class window seat and also get extra food since I was okay with anything. I swear that lady face instantly change when she hears that. Lol.

Were people not raised with any rules or consequences? As a young adult, one of the biggest mysteries on this planet to me is how self entitled grown ass adults act about things they shouldn’t even being doing because they aren’t following basic human decency or rules. Like what?

This happened to me lmao it was a son and a mother, he brought his mom a business class seat next to me and he brought himself an economy.
He asked me to switch with him so he could sit next to his mom and I was like noooo, he got angry and started saying things like “dude be a man” and I was like NO I paid for the seat so I didn’t have to be so close to people and look outside of my window. He went full on Karen mode and the funny part is his mom kept apologizing to me for how he behaved. She ended up taking care of me when I felt ill with motion sickness.

My family used to have to fly all the time, and once when my mother and I were both flying we had boarded and were already in our assigned seats. These two half-lit men came and yelled at us for being in their seats. Sure enough on both parties' boarding passes the seats were the same. My mom told the flight attendant that we would move, and because of being seasoned flyers we knew this usually meant getting bumped up. Sure enough those men were so proud that they got their way, but looked appalled when the flight attendant said she was bumping us up to business class. It was an 8hr flight from London to Atlanta and those guys were sitting right behind a baby who cried through much of the flight. It was wonderful!

The funniest of these i ever saw was the person refusing to move and arguing they were there first. The legit ticket holder said "Are you new to this?" And everyone else started laughing. Shame is a powerful mover.

That I happened to my family. Some people took seats that they didn’t pay for, so that they could put their luggage on the seats and have more leg room. We came pretty late so the flight attendant told us that there were 4 open seats in first class. We got a free upgrade!

I work in a travel job that often flies me first class. I have been asked to swap a few time now generally by other first class patrons that wanna sit closer to their family or something similar, and I almost always oblige. But this last time flying back from Chicago a lady asked me to switch seats to sit closer to her husband that was across the row from me. I said sure not really thinking about it and asked to see her ticket. I Check it and see economy 24 b. A middle economy seat. I was like wait I thought you where in first class. Why tf would I change my first class ticket for an economy one. She starts crying, and her husband starts calling me a jerk. The Stewardis comes back and checks my ticket. Immediately tells the lady to sit down or leave. All while the husband keeps telling me I am a terrible person. I just put my headphones on and ignore him.

I once paid extra for a window seat and the two seats next to me were a mom and daughter. Her other kid was in the row behind in the middle and they wanted to me switch so they could all sit together. They got the flight attendant involved and I said I paid extra for a window seat so if you can give me a refund then I’ll happily switch or if you can find me an open window elsewhere I’ll also switch. I felt bad but I paid for that seat. Luckily there was a different open window a few rows up and I moved. The attendant was so thankful she gave me a free mini wine bottle of my choosing with dinner. It pays to not be a complete jerk

Turns out we both had the same seat in a FULLY BOOKED flight (idk how that happened) but since I was traveling with my dad the dude was super nice and waited for the next flight props to him

I had a flight where I booked the window seat. A guy was sitting in my seat and I played nice and said, "oh I think you're in my seat." The dude looked up at me and said "it's fine you can sit there" pointing at the middle. The flight attendant was right behind me. She said to the other guy, "excuse me sir can I see you ticket?" Sees that he had the middle and sternly asks him to move. Instant justice. 😂

I was once on a flight from US back home and there was this man next to me talking to his wife some seats behind us. I told him I was fine to switch places with her if he would like to sit together. His answer: No I enjoy a little break from her.
