My man, I've been suffering from anxiety-related muscle rigidity for years and lost mobility in my hamstrings, shoulders, elbows and forearms. Stretching doesn't seem to work, since my body is always generating new mental tension in my muscles. Somehow, I still can train and have a really good physique, all things considered. How can I deal with mobility issues like not being able to lift with supinated wrists without discomfort? I'm trying to cure myself and I know you're not a doctor, but I know that you're very smart and passionate about training, often coming out with great intuitions! Big love and support.

I've started doing barbell curls and my bicep strength is going up faster than it ever has. I think micro-loading is hugely valuable. Likewise for upright rows vs lat raises.

There are plenty of good biceps exercises if this one hurts your wrist it's ok to pick another your biceps will grow just fine. Alex I'm subscribed to your channel I love your content, but this is fail to me to act like people got to do this exercise even if it hurts them.

As someone who does primarily calisthenics for the upper body, I've never had issues with straight bar curls

It's necessary to stretch your wrists which many people completely neglect. If you have wrists strong enough to do planche leans and pseudo planche pushups theres no way a simple curl will cause you issues

I used to stick to the Eazy bar because of wrist pain. However after I bought my power rack I have only been able to do straight bar curls. The wrist pain went away after a few weeks as my wrists adapted and I can now curl 90 pounds for 7.

How would you go about strengthening the wrists? I feel like mine are the limiting factor in some lifts even tho I do all my exercises without straps and some hammer curls for the forearm.

Straight bar curls gave me tendinitis two times already, so no Alex, i'll stick to my EZ bar and my dumbells.

I love straight bar curls, my only issue is that with a straight arm I can only supinate my palm to about 40° before my forearm is now bone on bone. So when I do them, I get progressively worsening bone pain that can take weeks to clear up. Who knows, maybe my bicep training is suboptimal cause some guy online says it is but I think it would be more suboptimal to have to pause my bicep training for 6 weeks cause I gave myself a stress fracture 😂
