If you lay the boards out and soak them with a hose it makes the boards More pliable and greatly reduces the stress on the woodgrain, which when the board is dry, it’s less likely to crack where it’s been screwed in. My old Papp taught me that when I was a kid, and he also said if you paint the portion of the corner post with creosote, they are less likely to rot over long periods of time.👍❤️

Until the horse kicks it off or the cows push it off the posts, Boards go on the inside where the livestock is. It makes it harder for them to push the boards off the posts.

Also wet wood bends a lot easier, so soak them in water instead of bending them in a dry and brittle state.

the actual trick is a fur strips a long washer to prevent the screws from turning into a trigger mechanism for the board launcher

Looks good but the cut post those are supposed to be cut at a slight angle to prevent it from absorbing the rain. The slight angle helps water run off. Just an fyi.

I did a 2x4 and 2x3 fence 4 in gap. Start with 2x4 first then 2x3 all the way down, hold my Rottweiler well with a view for him

Looks great, but the posts should’ve been bagged to prevent concrete rotting the wood.

Bottom of the post will rot. If you wrap the bottom before planting in it'll stop moisture and termite from doing a number on it. In a dew years he'll have to revisit each of those posts and do them over again.

🤠 take the boards down in the water and let them soak a bit. They will not split or cracks if they are water soft first. 👍

Probably soaking the wood with water, from a hose will give e it a bit more flex

She knows exactly what she's doing here 😏

Concrete shouldn’t touch wood. It holds moisture causing rot 20xs faster

I planted over 35 railroad ties approximately 24 years ago with nothing but dirt! They are still standing!

If you wet the wood it will bend perfectly and dry to the shape. Therefore removing tension

Boil some water and pour it on the board your working on and let it set for a few minutes, it will bend with ease

Not pour hot water on it so it is easier to bend right after it sits you stain it

Don't use concrete with outdoor wood posts, it will trap moisture and rot the wood.
