I just barely had this internal struggle myself. Ended up going with Ankh. Game gets here Friday! Fingers crossed I didn't choose wrong.

Awesome vid. Even with the obvious lean towards Ankh, you provided a fair comparison for each of the categories. Keep it up!

I always If find the opinion of your wife very interesting to know because most of the friends I play boardgames are not as nerdy as me. it gives a good pespective from non nerdy people hahaha.

Ankh is good with 4-5 players, and the merge mechanism practically cuts it down by one for the last part of the game, which also shakes up the boardstate. This reduces the back-and-forth situations considerably.

Kemet is my second favorite game ever! Losing only to Blood Rage hehe

Ankh is more for the casual player? Compared to Khemet?

Have you played each game only once each? That might also be connected to your weird claim than Ankhs Ankh powers don't matter.

I really like your videos in general, but I must say I was a bit disappointed with the art section of the video. As an Artist that was the part I was most excited about it, and it was very very repetitive, "colourful" "vibrant" "gritty x10times Xp I would have liked a bit more about the 2D art, the illustrations, Ankh for example have really detailed art, very dynamic poses in the miniatures (subject that wa slike 10 seconds) and a lot of detail of the clothes and a really cool concept behind their design of the Gods. I'm not that familiar with Kemet that's why I was quite curious to hear about strenghts in the art department. But for what I briefly saw Kemet's miniatures look a bit more static and less detailed, it would have been interesting to compare the components and the different art styles. Nevertheless keep up the good work, I found your channel a week ago and I'm already a fan

The reasons you gave why Khemet becomes better at more players would be the exact same for Ankh at more players.

It sounds like you liked Ankh at 2 so much that you assumed higher player count must be getting worse. But it doesn't. Sure, you loose some of the chess-like computability. But 3+ is also great with Ankh, just a bit different than with 2.

Ankh has a lot more Euro elements from what I've heard.

The variability of powers in Khemet is greater and the focus of Khemet is more on the power tiles.

But saying somebody without Ankh powers in Ankh could win over somebody who got them is crazy. Level 1 improves your follower economy. How do you win Plague with consistently less followers? Level 2 powers give strategic advantages. Without them it becomes harder to win battles and recover from them.
But the final straw is level 3. Here devotion gain gets boosted directly. A player without them has no chance winning against somebody with them, unless the latter player is completely incompetent and does everything wrong.

We played Kemet for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it also fell completely flat for the two women at the table. They hated it and were definitely glad when it was over.
I thought it was okay but I wouldn't add the game to my own collection. I constantly had to hold myself back from overanalysing all the power-ups. There are so many power-ups to choose from that I could've spent quite a lot of time figuring out which to get but that would've slowed down the game considerably for the others.

Imo Eric Lange trilogy is a really boring and horribly done rip-off. Kemet is Ankh without all the horrible parts like broken asymmetry powers that inspire 0 build difference, awful merge, and a lack of game covered up by minis.

EL Trilogy is honestly just a bunch of pretty art and minis and 0 game. Baffles me that Blood Rage is so high on peoples lists. Lose one big battle and you instantly lost all advantage for the game.

If she is not into the games better just leave her out of the video. It was mostly a monologue anyway and it is not fun to see someone completely uninterested and bored to hell.
