I wouldn't say gx was made for gaming if they didn't say that. It's just generally a great browser and im never switching back to chrome

I swore by google, still do. But... I used firefox for about a year and this was my experience.
I used firefox, accumulated 13 extensions along the way and had a plesent experience. My main issue was ram, I switched to the GX browser 4 weeks ago and had fun setting it up for 2 hours. never really though about it until I had to. My main tasks were becoming harder mainly duplicating tabs was slower due to the interface and twitch streams lag frequently and do not run that well in the background. I simply upgraded my ram and will be using firefox until opera is ironed out, more customizable, and more organized. I can't tell you how many buttons and stuff there is, the settings should be where you can change everything, in addition to whatever other little menus it has.

I totally understand that many prefer the "cool" look of Opera GX. But I just think it's unfair to not really show all of the features Firefox has, that make it a way better browser overall. And no, I don't need any RGB in my Browser?! I already have plenty on my RAM, Mainboard and so on. And the 100mb of RAM. Seriously? Just show me a single time when that actually mattered in a game. Especially with 16 GB. Well yes, I have 32 but who cares? It's basically nothing and just because Opera GX is more "Hey, I can do this, this, this, this, this and this!" doesn't make it a better browser. Infact Opera does seem to be quite a sketchy company to me. Meanwhile Firefox is a non-profit organization. And the GX-VPN? Well, are you sure that that's a VPN? And do you want to use a "VPN" whos parent company has been accused of fraud in several countries? But hey, do what you want to do. But I don't think you would have chosen Opera in the old days. Firefox always was miles ahead.

FireFox is a lot better in my opinion. It's faster and much more snappy than chrome/opera. Though, it's a shame Google makes YouTube faster for Chrome (or chromium) and doesn't let Firefox have a chance to be faster on YouTube. Even then, YouTube seems faster on Firefox. And even in this video, Opera was only using 100mb less ram probably due to it having the built-in adblocker.

Either way both are good browsers :)

I only just decided to download the browser not even 10 minutes ago just to check it out (have been using chrome and firefox for a while now).Seems to me that videos load faster on my 100mbps internet connection than on chrome and firefox but could also be placebo but so far videos and browsing in general seem at least as fast as the other two browsers but I feel like it's more snappy but again could just be placebo lol.

i liked opera gx for a while but it kept crashing even after clearing and cleaning it. i switched to firefox and its like really snappy and fast, so i think im going to stick to firefox for now on.

Fast forward to 2022, gx is still a good browser. Wouldn't say it's better than Firefox except the built in features is what beats it and the fact it automatically sends YouTube into miniplay when you open a new tab, and allows a transparency feature, which is nice for when I'm playing a game, cos I can either have the video on my 2nd monitor which I usually do, but for people with a single monitor, it's a nice feature, and if I'm watching a guide video on a game, I can have it in the top left of my game which makes following along easier, although a 2nd monitor already makes it easy. Just small things like that more people will appreciate.

my opera gx uses more CPU than chrome, even when i enable the CPU and RAM Limiter. why is that?
