Do YOU speak too SLOW?

If you're a slow speaker, that's okay... Just don't stay there all the time.

There's power in both speaking slow and fast. Speaking slow allows people to absorb what you're saying better, whilst speaking fast conveys passion and enthusiasm.

The problem is when we're really passionate about something but our rate of speech doesn't show that. Or we're sharing something important but we speak too fast and therefore no one can understand what you're saying.

The way he slowed down and went softer.. draws me in. You *feel* that uncertainty more. Then the rising confusion, reaching out, scrabbling, looking for answers. Just that short 15 seconds... hit really hard. Once that guy masters that, he'll hold everyone in rapt attention when telling a story from his experiences.

I want to know if anybody can tell me anything about me speaking slowly to correctly pronounce words so I’m practicing with that and I’m starting to talk slowly to get better with the pronunciations.

So can someone tell me about adding higher pitch and faster speaking to make me look I have more charisma, I can speak pretty fine I have trouble with words like “is this” with an overbite

Although I appreciate improving one's communication skills, the societal belief to over index and artificially value communication skills over technical skills or quiet leadership, has put us in the mess we are in - a world run by snake oils salesman. To improve the world we have to embrace grit, integrity, know-how, wisdom, experience, and not only 'talkers'. I'm sure we've all seen our share of undeserving people fail upwards. These personality types who over index on social and communication skills are the politicians, CEOs, the Sam Altmans, the Trevor Milton's, the Sam Bankman-Fried. Communication matters but we should really balance it with valuing the quiet counterpart who are likely the ones with the solutions in saving the world... not the talkers.

that's not true at all. speaking fast is a sign of nervousness and uncertainty. speaking slowly, clearly, and articulating your thoughts with less words is superior because it shows that you have confidence, you are calm, and precise. many asians speak fast thinking that it makes them sound like a native, when in reality they are just wasting their breath. you can certainly have tremendous charisma speaking steady and clearly so this is very untrue. all you are teaching him is to be more nervous like you.
