How to reset stuck washing machines

Sometimes due to heavy loads and/or using to much soap your whirlpool washing machines may become stuck in an error state. This video will show you how to unlock your washer from that error state.

When we pressed the start button on our Maytag Maxima, the lights came on & the door locked, but the washer would not start. When I heard this video, I unplugged the washer for 30+ seconds. Then, when I plugged it in, it started!

Tip: if this doesn’t let you open the door, start a drain/spin&drain program. Once that’s finished the door should open.

I have a top load, washer, and energy star, what kind of damage am I looking at if the basement flooded and got a foot tall of water that affected the bottom part of the washer? What would need to be replaced? I opened and closed the lids six times I unplugged the machine for a minute, I press the buttons for the wash cycle it makes a noise, but then it does not show the film button light, and does not jet water out and then makes the finish button noise three minutes later. I’d like to replace a part

This video is specific to the whirlpool washing machines we have at the Onyx apartment complex. This is not a universal trick for all washing machines. I am not sure how this video got 10000 hits. If youre not an Onyx resident you should look for another video.

Yeah no it does not automatically drain and unlock .. it's staying locked and blinking red lock

My problem with this Whirlpool direct drive washer - I push on the power button, set the dial to type of wash and push the Start button and the Minutes display starts flashing and beeping. I have to unplug for 30 sec and plug back in to reset it. This happens ever 3 or 4 washes.

I did that and unclogged the drain had 2 socks in there dont know how the heck it got in there.But door still wont open 😢
