In career mode, I think you can burn out a Caravan engine in one flight if you leave it cranked. It must work differently in career.

I’ve had great experiences with the default planes and the live failure/“damages” model. I’ve had dual failures due to icing and I’ve killed many engines due to overheating. IMO it’s a big improvement. The issue is they don’t want to lose off their big OEM contracts.

The reason this doesn’t work is because it’s not made for free flight.

1. It’s made for career mode
2. It’s made for planes you own

Then, when you go and go your walk around, all of your damage is present during the pre flight. At least that’s how it’s always been for me during testing. Whatever you damage, it then will show it on the pre flight checklist and must be repaired.

Jeju Air was an airliner 737-800 going from Bangkok, Thailand, to Muan, South Korea. Due to a bird strike, it could not lower its landing gear. It started landing without a gear, however, during the short runway, it quickly veered off course, and rammed into a wall designed to stop intruders. At moment of writing this comment, 9:20 PM EST, it has 28 casualties and 2 survivors.

Maybe it still was damaging but not showing correctly since you were testing the flaps everytime and that was the first thing that popped up when crashing.
