The Wizarding World you know, the story you don’t. #FantasticBeasts

Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is the second of five all new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World™. At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world. The film features an ensemble cast led by Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Carmen Ejogo, Poppy Corby-Tuech, with Jude Law and Johnny Depp. “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is directed by David Yates, from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling. The film is produced by David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. Tim Lewis, Neil Blair, Rick Senat and Danny Cohen serve as executive producers. The film reunites the behind-the-scenes creative team from the first “Fantastic Beasts” film, including Oscar-winning director of photography Philippe Rousselot (“A River Runs Through It”), three-time Oscar-winning production designer Stuart Craig (“The English Patient,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Gandhi,” the “Harry Potter” films), four-time Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood (“Chicago,” “Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”), and Yates’ longtime editor Mark Day (the last four “Harry Potter” films). The music is by eight-time Oscar nominee James Newton Howard (“Defiance,” “Michael Clayton,” “The Hunger Games” films). Slated for release beginning November 16, 2018, the film will be distributed worldwide in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

I feel bad for her. She was genuinely happy about her role but twitter was chaotic

I’m sorry I just went onto Tumblr after seeing this and was absolutely shocked by the rather offensive (offended?) reactions towards their casting choice for Nagini. It honestly scared me what some people were saying, why is it important that they cast an Asian lady? I wasn’t thinking of her race when I saw this my first thought when I saw her on screen was a hitch in my breath before- “She’s beautiful” I was completely in awe of how gorgeous this lady was and how well done that transformation was made, I really hope that maybe some of you guys that are saying it’s a bad thing she’s Asian will stop. I mean come on, she looks like a very capable actress at no given point were we told what race Nagini was and I believe she’ll do a amazing with her role. It’s her job to play the character and I choose to support her. All that terrifying heartbreaking talk about the casting choice being symbolic of such terrible things really hurts. I was so so happy when I saw the video and I can’t explain how much those posts hurt to read, I just wanted to see a gif of the transformation, that was it. I’m sorry for possibly offending anyone in anyway shape or form (I truly hope I didn’t) and I wish you a good evening, goodnight humans.

From now on Harry is not the first human hocrux but nagini. God she's beautiful. I honestly don't care if asian or albanian like others argue about but for widening up nagini's backstory is very exciting to us all. Cant wait for the movie haha

I'm really glad to see Claudia Kim genuinely happy and excited about her role. Makes me feel less negative about this twist.

Jude Law is so cute when he laughs.

As far as I know, nagini is more than just a pet/slave, she’s an ally to voldemort.. also, this is just the start of her story, we would definitely understand if not in this movie, but for the coming sequels what happens to her and why she ended up with voldemort. Also I’m pure asian, and i don’t feel any racism here, only excitement.

As an Asian woman I see no issue with why Nagini being revealed as an Asian woman should be an insult to us Asians.
I mean I didn't hear any 'racist' comments when Cho Chang, another Asian, was shown as Harry's first love interest.
It's not like Nagini is the first Asian character being introduced in the magical world and she's being enslaved.
The entire narrative of an "Asian woman being slave to a white male" is so flimsy. I mean...c'mon. This is the magical world of JKR. Since when does race, color, creed, religion matter in the magical world? It's fiction. Get over yourselves. Not everything has to be a 'movement' and a controversy!
I miss the age where social media didn't meddle everywhere and Harry Potter universe was our escape from reality into the magical world.
