You're right, Jose—I feel the same way about living in Mexico. It's so much better.

E-scooter ride? Always love seeing Merida. Great talk. Americans have no idea what freedom really is. The more I listen to you, the better I understand. Thanks Jose. 👍🏾

Mexicans manage their finances through family cooperation, prioritization, and resourcefulness. Instead of relying heavily on credit, they pool incomes within households, ensuring that essential expenses are covered. They prioritize based on personal or family needs—some choose housing over transportation, while others sacrifice daily comforts for a car, a smartphone, or education.

The informal economy plays a big role, with many engaging in side jobs or small businesses to increase income. Alternative financing methods, such as tandas (rotating savings), layaway plans, and microloans, help people afford large purchases without debt.

Ultimately, smart spending habits, bargaining, and financial sacrifices allow Mexicans to sustain their lifestyles, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in an often challenging economic environment. Great video, JOSE!

I came back to Tijuana Today as a matter of fact. After leaving for a year and a half. Moving back to the USA was extremely depressing. I gained 35 lbs due to my depression. I had lost my Job there and decided I will do my Gigs in San Diego and do a minor job if I have to. I had to come back and see my friends and Acquaintances, which are all Mexicans not Americans. The people are so much better and kinder than Americans. I feel so much more relaxed and happier here.

1) University of Guadalajara is one of the best medical and dental schools in the world, PERIOD. 2) When I am in Panama (mother's home country) or in Mexico, big city or pueblo, people are always kind, curious, out at night, working hard, enjoying themselves, having animated conversations without violence or meanness. In other words, NORMAL PEOPLE.

Thanks Jose! I am self employed and 62 years old. I do not have health insurance. It is encouraging to know Mexico takes care of people. I am looking to retire in Mexico or Belize.

I agree, basic things shouldn’t be so overpriced like in the states.

My husband and I were both deathly ill with dengue fever last summer. We live on the other side of southern Mexico, unfortunately in an area with limited healthcare. But we were still able to have our local doctor make a house call, and for the same price as an office visit, 600 pesos. My husband was badly dehydrated so he had to spend 3 days in the hospital where they ran a variety of tests including an ultrasound. His entire bill was the equivalent of around $800 US. We are truly blessed to live here.

There is so much we can learn from the Mexican system, culture and people. Your videos have shown why many people have moved to Mexico to live, visit and retire in.

1500 a month man! Your the real deal. In Mexico City in tianguis and around they advertise terrones plot of land. People buy and pay for them first. Then get a guy to do the cement work and the buyer does the grunt work. Then when thats paid for the plumber and electricista. Maybe is one or two bedrooms with a cocina and sala at first. Then maybe they add rooms. If the terrenos were sold along a new neighborhood springs up. Buses start making routes to the area. It isn't always easy but over time a house gets built and paid for. 57 percent of homes in Mexico are self built. The owner may do what work they can than sub out the rest.

I really enjoy your content and your personality—it’s such a calming yet insightful combination. Your videos feel like ASMR for the mind while being genuinely informative.
I do have a question, though. You mentioned that it was only after moving to Mexico that you realized people aren’t truly living life the way it should be. That really resonated with me. But it also made me wonder—if that’s the case, why is it that many Mexicans who’ve grown up there often feel the need to leave, or seem unable to enjoy and appreciate the very things you’ve come to love so much?
